The best show on TV.

I can't fucking wait for the new season.

JonM 03-01-2006 11:07 PM

Me either.
Who's facial hair is that? It looks really familiar.

The guy from Death From Above 1979?
It's Helge Sten. The guy from Supersilent and his solo endeavors of Deathprod.

br3ad_man 03-02-2006 05:55 AM

I rented Coffee and Cigarettes today, just 'cuz I felt like it. I also got a nice video store calendar for $3.
I've got a trip to Brisbane to see The Drones and catch up with friends and drink lots of booze to look forward to at the end of the month. Plus I get to stay in a flash hotel and eat and drink lots and it's all paid for by work.
That's pretty great. I sent a girl I barely know to that gig. I hope she goes anyway. One of these days, I swear I'll bump into you man.

Kyle 03-02-2006 01:47 PM

I've been listening to back again by The Dilated Peoples for like a whole day now, oh my god this song is the shit.

Iai 03-02-2006 01:54 PM

I just started listening to Dilated Peoples again too, funnily enough. They used to be my favourite rap group back when Expansion Team dropped.

Kyle 03-02-2006 01:56 PM
I just started listening to Dilated Peoples again too, funnily enough. They used to be my favourite rap group back when Expansion Team dropped.
ye, They have some awesome tunes, but I find they are pretty hit and miss.

My death-electro song, Rape and Pyrotechnics, for those who were interested.

The buzz of my keyboard is 'lo-fi' and 'indie noise' and the tune is 'minimalist' with only three notes because that's just so 'indie'.

Lyrics, again...
set the flowers on fire with lots of rape
yumyumyumyum now.
i'll ask you for it and i'll ask your father about rape rape rape rape rape,
like great rape.
maim the corpse, eat her brains, eat her brains again.
rape rape rape blood rape, rape rape rape blood rape.
um, yeah yeah.
set the rape alight, rubadubadub
let the battle happen now.
shove it all night, if you like, yumyumyumyum.

It has been said I sound like a demented sea-hag.
If it expires and you want it then tell me and I'll upload it again.

Belle & Sebastian and the New Pornographers show is tomorrow night. Doors open at 6:30, but the show doesn't even start until 8:30. Since that's already 2 hours before show time, I have no clue how early I should get there. Any advice?

ATM 03-02-2006 06:19 PM

Freaks and Geeks!

That's one of my favorite shows ever.

Yesssss

they added Sonic Youth and Common to the 'Roo lineup :-D

I Was A Kaleidoscope 03-02-2006 06:41 PM

Sonic Youth. :O
That just makes me want to go to something I can't go to even more. :(

ATM 03-02-2006 06:42 PM

I really can't wait.

From previous experiences, I always like to get there early. I'd try to be there around six.

I found out that on May 28, Ben Harper and Bedouin Soundclash are doing a double set in Vancouver. Not only that, it's going to be outside, at a park by a lake, in summer. It's only $45, I may be going to that :)

np: Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf

ATM 03-02-2006 07:08 PM

6 is probably too early to get there. I'd get there around 7:30 and make your way to the front.

So tomorrow I start the 30-Hour-Famine. Should be fun. Except I'm not allowed to bring Pulp Fiction to watch.

Matt? 03-02-2006 10:35 PM

dresden dolls were so awesome. have any of you ever been listening to music and suddenly got that shiver down your spine sort of feeling.

that happened to me multiple times

What is that anyways? I saw a sign at school advertising it.

yes, i like to call it the dry orgasm.

probably the best feeling ever

you pledge not to eat for thirty hours to protest famine or something. you have to go to a church or school and just sorta hang out, to make sure you dont cheat you know!

i get hunger pangs after eight hours of no food, so i could never survive without being extremely uncomfortable. damn my richest-nation-in-the-world upbringing!

Kurtz 03-02-2006 10:44 PM

I already have Yom Kippur every year, I hate fasting.

Like YDLoad said, you raise a bunch of money going door to door and stuff. Then, you donate the money to World Vision, and then they give it to a bunch of orphans and stuff. The moment the clock strikes midnight tonight, I don't eat until six Saturday morning, sort of to recognize the plight of people suffering from starvation.

I sleep over at my school, and it's great. You can bring in movies, the gym is open (we have a game of tag at midnight), it's great.

I've been doing it for a couple years now, and I've noticed I do feel hunger pangs now and then, but if you keep busy, you hardly notice it.

Matt? 03-02-2006 10:47 PM

i don't think i need an is there, but no big deal i guess

:-/

edit: i understand and agree now

Kurtz 03-02-2006 10:47 PM

Must be a upperclassmen thing, none of my teachers said anything.

Doesn't that contradict some of the meaning?

I would think that part of it was to feel for starving people.

Glitterati 03-02-2006 11:04 PM
Doesn't that contradict some of the meaning?

There's a difference. I'm still for the cause of the starving people, but doing something can make it not be physically painful.

Kurtz 03-02-2006 11:14 PM
I doubt starving people would want to sit around feeling hungry either.
What I meant was that I would think there would be some point in starving for 30 hours, to feel what it's like to be like to be a starving kid, right?

But yeah, it sounds like a really good cause.

Fo' sho'!

br3ad_man 03-03-2006 06:17 AM

I'm seriously considering going to another Parkway Drive show...at least it'll be kind of fun if I bring friends. I'm also gonna go to Overcranked. Psycroptic will be sweet live.

Little Man being Erased 03-03-2006 10:00 AM

I don't know these bands/gigs you speak of, but I do know that seeing live bands with friends is pretty much fun no matter how good the bands are.

Radiobass81 03-03-2006 04:12 PM

We had a college fair today at my school. Bleh, if only I knew what I wanted to do in life...

I picked information and other stuff from every college.

It's between (majors, I mean):
Literature
Philosophy
Theology (not religious per se, but there is nothing as good as a religious debate)
Accounting
History

Probably because they are hardcore and metal bands. Live bands with friends are always good times.

Today, I'm going to read a bunch of crap, watch Coffee and Cigarettes, meet my friend after he finishes work and then go back home and watch some more movies. And then I'll go to bed and go to teh ghey (aka work) tomorrow.

That one seems out of place for some reason.

I was developing film earlier today and now I feel like I smell like chemicals. But my film turned out great so it's all good. Gonna watch Corpse Bride later today. I hope it doesn't suck.
