Hey, you guys say the UK dates have been put back up, but I can only see the download date =/

nowitzki 03-15-2006 11:36 AM
Seeing as I am am absolute nutter, I might go down for both UK dates (Might as well make the most of it, what with it being like a 6 hour or so car journey, right?). I should be able to get my girlfriend to go to at least one though I think, not sure about both.

I'm hoping for a more northern date... Milton Keynes, Manchester Arena? Somewhere in Nottingham? I don't know, wherever bands usually play up here.
Download is very close to Nottingham ;) But yeah, I would definitely go to another date if there was one close by, its just that week is going to be pretty expensive with Download.

They are in the tour dates section of the site I think.
while we are revising stupid people. Stop using the phrase "pwned" geek lord. For the "Mars Volta" track listings. YOure still not obeying TOOL. Quit wondering and comparing you stupid jew. WAIT!
I really don't like it when people use "Jew" as an insult.

Aye, Download is during my Uni exam time though. However, I'll have already done my two major subject exams by then, and only have my Criminology exam to do, with like a week of revision time for it. The Download date is during that week, so me and my girlfriend might be going, along with a couple of other Tool fans that I know.

Why should racism only affect people of ethnic minorities?

Hellion462606 03-15-2006 02:39 PM

Okay ****ers, stop your squabbling and answer me this. Has anything else heard anything about/from the new album? Is it really going to happen or are Maynard and the guys screwing with everyone?

lucky luciano 03-15-2006 02:40 PM

One great thing about Tool is that they are always changing and doing something different, taking that next step with every album. If the album name and track listings are true then why wouldn't people support that and be open minded about it instead of bitching about it not being "Toolish" or whatever. I actually hope now that they put out an upbeat happy acoustic album, because I know it would still kick *** and at the same time it would royally piss off all of their narrow minded pseudo-intellectual fans.

And to the guy above me I guess I don't undertand your question. Are you wondering if there is a new album at all? Yes, May 2nd it will be out, a collection of great dance songs, a couple ballads, and even a little pop-rock.:thumb:

kurrpt 03-15-2006 02:46 PM
Why should racism only affect people of ethnic minorities?
it shouldnt affect anyone. Racial epitaphs shouldnt have the ability to offend anyone, that is, if you want to stomp out racism. If there are still words or phrases that are considered "taboo", that hardly solves the problem

I'm guessing there is still no word for a US tour, yet..?

If they don't come to Texas, so help me God, I will bash the face in of every Emo kid I see..!

Nah, I'd just give them monster wedgies and tell them to cry about that.. Yeah, that would be better..

I'm hispanic, does that count..? Colombian to be exact..

Not that I disgree with you, but why should "Jew" be an insult at all?

Personally I think it's funny because it's ignorant, but you can tell there are people who laugh at that sort of stuff because they actually think being a Jew is a bad thing.

thats cool man...

i was just stating my belief, that to have a racist free society/world, statements like that shouldnt bother anyone is all

incubliss 03-15-2006 04:52 PM

I'm definately gonna try to both nights for Tool. It'll be absolutely amazing. Hotels in certain parts of London only cost 30 a night. It'll be an expensive trip in all though. £50 train ticket, aswell as £50 tickets (both nights).

I reckon tix will go for about £25.

I was expecting them to play Manchester Arena, but 2 London dates is just as good. And Nottingham would have been a great pick, saved me travel time. But Rock City is too small a venue and I cant see them doing the Ice Arena.

Looks like the whole thread will be converging on London then :) Make sure (should I go into a coma or something) to post as soon as you guys see the tickets go up on sale

incubliss 03-16-2006 06:21 AM

http://toolnavy.com/showthread.php?t=37880

There's a thread there, dedicated to updating info on tickets. Most other European places have their tickets already, and Isis are the support act on those stubs. Just make sure to keep an eye on that thread.

ALSO, I have an idea. For the people out there that have limited funds, I suggest the people who read this thread with the most money, buy an extra ticket. Then, people on here can have a chance of buying one at the normal price from them. I'm probably going to be buying an extra one just incase someone misses out. I hate it that people may have to buy on ebay. When I went to see Broken Social Scene in London Barfly back in November, original tickets were £8, I bought 2 on ebay for £62 for me and my friend. I don't want to see that happening again.

We're a good bunch of people, so try help a brother out. All i'm saying.

Adam Jones is GOD 03-16-2006 08:36 AM

Good idea. I've got a bunch of people who I think would want to go, but probably wont make it, even when I get tickets. So im likely to be left with spares.

And Isis support.....it started as a dream, but its happening in reality now. Now if only my copy of Oceanic would turn up in the post

incubliss 03-16-2006 08:44 AM

Cool, make sure you keep them then and sell them on here. I doubt i'll be able to get the tickets in time at this rate.

An old CAD song I uploaded for you guys;

...and an old CAD video featuring Maynard in lycra.

I'm a quater Spanish... can I join?

I am so psyched for the new album and am startung to believe the album title and track listing more and more.

Esoteric_Creator 03-16-2006 03:09 PM

I want to believe the titles and tracks, but I'm leaving myself open for any "surprises". Who knows, right..? This *is* Tool we're dealing with..

Last night my mom received her new issue of Rolling Stones. IMO, I hate the f*cking magazine. It's on the same level in my mind as MTV. Yet, I was on the toliet with nothing to read (i'm a guy. what do you expect?), so I was paging through. Either way, they had section for spring releases and reviews. They had a freakin' spot for G&R Chinese Democracy, and yet made Tool and freakin' footnote..! The bastards..
Either way, they are still listing the new album title as TBA, but for a May 2nd release.
According to Blair, Tool did an interview with Revolver (which i'm subscribed to) and should be in their April issue. Here's to good information..

And yeah, we hispanic can be lazy, but I fall in the more procrastinating portion of our race.. To each his own.. *shrugs*

We just need to beat the thousands of Americans in here and R&M will be ours.

Otherside 03-16-2006 05:10 PM

Actually I would think they're more Europeans in R&M than Americans(in terms of regulars). Well, maybe not, but there isn't a large margin between the two I woud guess.

Well, to be honest, the last Tool album came out 5 years ago. The last Guns N' Roses album came out like 12 years ago. That's really the only reason why. Besides, Rolling Stone Magazine is very bad often. For example, they called Weezer's Pinkerton album the worst album of the year when it came out. Mainly, they were just following a stupid trend of bashing the album. They now call it one of the best albums of that year (I believe '96) and it is widely considered to be Weezer's best album (or 2nd best to their first album). They said St. Anger had riffs that brought Metallica back to the days of ...and justice for all. I'll stop before I get into how they bashed almost all Zeppelin and Floyd albums when they originally came out.

But St. Anger did have very good riffs, although they were over-used... At least imo...

YouGottaBeCrazy 03-16-2006 08:37 PM

But they don't sound like riffs from AJFA. That's the point.

Chu 03-16-2006 08:56 PM

I don't really like ...AJFA all that much, I guess maybe if there was more bass I wouldn't mind it.. But I actually prefer St. Anger as a whole to ...AJFA.

Darkness 03-16-2006 08:57 PM

AJFA slays all other Metallica for me... but lets stop the damn Metallica discussion in the Tool thread, please.
