PepsiMetal 03-28-2005 09:40 PM

Yea dimebag was great.

R.I.P.

That blonde guy behind him looks like dave mustaine. Well his hair does.

Joe 03-28-2005 09:47 PM

i was going to ask that a little while ago, it really looks like mustaine. it's probably whoever else is in damage plan because mustaine would NOT do a metallica song at least back in july when this was made

I would LOVE! to hear a studio version of no leaf clover, and Minus Human also, Two awesome songs, i think its just a matter of time :amaze:

Josh 03-29-2005 05:59 AM

i saw the video for turn the page earlier, first time i'd heard that song, what album's it from?

ArcLite 03-29-2005 06:00 AM

Garage Inc. I believe. It's a cover of Bob Seger's song.

blue3 03-29-2005 06:01 AM

Garage Inc

Josh 03-29-2005 06:07 AM

ah ok, thanks. i really should get that album sometime...

blue3 03-29-2005 06:07 AM

I don't own Garage Inc. either

MaKaTo 03-29-2005 06:47 AM

I dont know how Kirk Hammet does the fast solos, I just cant do it >_< especially the ending solo at Fade To Black, the fast solos, which require good bending, pull offs, correct timing and hardest of all SPEED. Oh and btw, what do you guys think about playing Metallica songs dressed in a tophat, tie, etc. ?

ThrashMaster27 03-29-2005 07:05 AM

They're really not that hard if you've been playing for about 2 years or over.

DisposableHeroes 03-29-2005 07:12 AM
wtf?
For Garage Days Revisited they dressed up in smart clothing, well atleast on the cover of the singles from it i think

MaKaTo 03-29-2005 07:20 AM

Okay, lets say, a mixed song.

Starting off with a drum solo, followed by one of the solos like November Rain from Guns & Roses ( rock ), and then a few other rock solos, and at the end of the song we play the Fade to black ending solo. So its a mix of metal + rock. Do you think its good? and do you think we could dress up like Slash in his tophat?

MaKaTo 03-29-2005 07:22 AM

Btw, tophats, ties, i dont mean suits yeah? I mean like after a day's work at the office with your loose tie and rolled up sleeves.

huh?

ThrashMaster27 03-29-2005 07:30 AM

The Garage Inc dress up thing was evidently a piss take. They look funny as hell... and cheesy.

NP: Destruction - The ****ed

MaKaTo 03-29-2005 07:30 AM

What im saying is a performance of mixed type of songs : rock and metal. No singer, one drummer, two guitarists, just solos all the way, start off with a drum solo, followed by a rock solo, and finally metal at the end. Do you think it's a good idea? Fade to black isnt really much of metal (ending solo), compared to Enter Sandman or Master of Puppets

munky_magik 03-29-2005 07:34 AM

So you want to combine shred and a rock-type solo in one song?

MaKaTo 03-29-2005 07:43 AM

Something like that, more like rock + metal song. Btw, Fade to black doesnt seem to be as metal as the other songs (e.g. Master of Puppets, Enter Sandman ). okay forget what i said, its a bit confusing, do you guys think its good if i mix metal + rock into one song. WITHOUT singing of course just the solos, and a bit of changes to change the song from metal to rock in the middle of it.

MaKaTo 03-29-2005 07:52 AM

Oowhkay im sorry then -.- well back to the topic! Do metallica actually play with the orchestra when playing live?

ThrashMaster27 03-29-2005 08:15 AM

That's a good question! how many times have people in this thread seen Metallica live?

I've seen 'em twice.

MaKaTo 03-29-2005 08:15 AM

S&M ? =/ sorry for all these stupid questions, im just a guitar noob learning and loving metal & rock =)

Rattlehead 03-29-2005 08:26 AM

i like S&M. but anyways, while we're on the subject, do any of u guys know the date metallica play live nxt?

Deth 03-29-2005 08:28 AM

I've seen them once and it was the greatest thing ever. But Godsmack opened, so it brought it down a little.

Spelling, natman, spelling.

DisposableHeroes 03-29-2005 08:29 AM
That's a good question! how many times have people in this thread seen Metallica live?

Twice

The first time was one of the best gigs i've ever seen, i remember vividly Its A Long Way To The Top(if you wanna rock 'n roll) fading out the PA, suddenly everything went black and Ecstacy Of Gold launched into the intro to Battery. I done my kneck in headbanging that night :p

metalcritter666 03-29-2005 08:29 AM

for whom the bell tolls on S&M blew me away.
ditto no leaf clover.

i haven't got it, but I've heard those two.

As for the new album...I've changed my mind about that 90s black album sound...they'll probably just try something completely new. a more modern metal sound with solos (not nu-metal) but you know what I mean. guitar tuning wise, it won't be in E, probably Eb, full D, Drop C#, or full C#. They won't go back to a Drop C because lars and kirk didn't like the guitar solos in C so they left them out. Thats why they put a solo in for Dirty Window live (C# song).

What do you guys think?
