Drifter is one of my favourite songs on Killers. It's a great song.
The live version of drifters is great.
I really like the intro to another life.

ashman 06-03-2006 11:36 PM

Killers is an oarsome song btw :p

Shattered_Future 06-03-2006 11:37 PM

Killers rules. I remember I really, REALLY loved Track 6 (who's name is escaping me now...).

Apocalyptic Raids 06-03-2006 11:46 PM

I like Killers more than the s/t. I never liked the s/t much.

Innocent Exile?

YDload 06-04-2006 01:07 AM

Killers is my favorite Maiden album, actually. I still prefer Bruce as a singer, but the songs themselves were the best on this album.

Hi Maiden thread, long time no see. I am a mod in the Pit and Alt/Indie forums, so along with Riva I am the second Maiden thread regular to become a mod. \m/

crag 06-04-2006 07:51 AM

Killers ranks somewhere in the middle of my favourite Maiden album list, bass wise it's probably my favourite album.

rik 06-04-2006 08:01 AM

Killers and Brave New World are easily my favourite Maiden albums. Genghis Kahn, MITRM and Drifter are probably my favourite off Killers.

And Ides of March is just such a Killer opening track, love it.
Killers ranks somewhere in the middle of my favourite Maiden album list, bass wise it's probably my favourite album.
Thats why mostly the only maiden songs i know on bass are from the S/T killers era

I could never pick a favorite album, ive tried before but they're just all too good :(

atm i really like NPFTD though, but ive always liked NPFTD so =/

JamJar 06-04-2006 08:38 AM

NPFTD is good but imo it lacks any real standout points. They're all good songs but not really fantastic.

I think its biggest downfall is its production.

Yeah, there's just not any songs that really grab you on that album, they're all really good but there's just no classics:(

Like i said before, i think the songs are actually pretty good, but the production is just terrible :(

But i agree with the classics part they're good songs, but not classic songs.

When I've been revising in a bored way, I came up with this as my current ideal Maiden setlist.

Murders in the Rue Morgue
Tailgunner
Still life
Fortunes of War
Killers
Where Eagles Dare
The Clarevoyant
Dream of Mirrors
Paschendale
Strange world
The Aftermath
Infinite Dreams
Hallowed be thy name
Iron Maiden
................................
To tame a land
................................
Sea of madness
The edge of Darkness
Drifter

hmmm...not sure how well 'To tame a land' would go down live

Neoteric 06-04-2006 10:39 AM

I only really like S/T, Killers era Maiden as I'm not a big fan of Bruce's work.

I've heard a bootleg of it live, it was really good....a part from a really terrible bit in the middle :-/

That's something you don't usually hear in this thread. I might expect someone not liking Blaze (That's against the rules of the thread anyway), but never anyone not really liking Bruce. It's all a matter of opinion really though.

PAJJ 06-04-2006 01:08 PM

I wouldn't know where to begin with picking a maiden set list, i tried making a playlist with loads of artists on it and it ended with about 60 maiden tunes on it, and those were all essential.

Josh 06-04-2006 02:50 PM

i can't pick set-lists, there's too much good maiden stuff to choose from :(

If i was to pick a set list i think it would be similar to this. I'd probably swap WED, Clairvoyant and Iron Maiden with RotAM, Moonchild and SotC though.

Lord Abortion 06-04-2006 03:00 PM

Yeah, it's a set of quite introspective songs, so I thought, Drifter at the end:smoke:

Gets everyone leaving with a smile on their faces.

Ides of March is a corker of an opener.

Lord Abortion 06-05-2006 10:21 AM

My killers favourites are drifter, another life, killers, murders in the rue morge and twilight zone.

The only ones I'm not too keen on are prodigal son and Innocent exile.
Probably the others I'm not too fussed on are Genghis kahn and Wrathchild.

JamJar 06-05-2006 10:52 AM

My favourites on Killers are Prurgatory, Murders In The Rue Morgue, Prodigal Son, Drifters and the title track. I prefer it to the s/t.

crag 06-05-2006 10:56 AM

Lets see, favourites on Killers are MitRM, Innocent Exile, Killers, Prodigal Son, Purgatory and Drifter.

JamJar 06-05-2006 11:35 AM

Crag: Is the cover of The Thin Line... actually ever going to happen?
Crag: Is the cover of The Thin Line... actually ever going to happen?
Well, i'm still willing to do it but we're going to need a drum track or drummer.

JamJar 06-05-2006 01:00 PM

I could probably program the drums but I would rather have a real drummer.

the_uber_penguin 06-06-2006 10:45 AM

I'd go with programmed drums...when my band came to recording our album, me and the drummer agreed to use programmed drums instead because they sounded better. He programmed all his lines into them and voila!
