Oh my god, this is a terrible version of "Get Up, Stand Up".
Yea, even though it was the actual Marleys.

Awesome, Kanye is on.

EDIT: was :(

ArcLite 07-02-2005 05:28 PM

Ollie, question for you...Can you do Alexi Laiho vocals? I ask because I'm going to do Taste Of My Scythe for the metal comp and it would be nice to have some vox on it. Let me know if you're capable/willing.

Yes and yes

the microphone is still giving me problems so it may be another week or so before it is sorted. still in time for the comp though

Mariah Carey was intensely hot.

Did anyone see Sinead O' Connor, I mean, err, Natalie Portman's new hair?

Green Day was horrible, I heard some of their stuff on the radio. I can't believe they have any fans.

What, have you never listened to any of them before?

I used to be a big Green Day fan in Middle School, but not anymore.

No, they were even worse than I expected. I actually don't mind some of their early stuff, but now it's just repetitive garbage.

RCA 07-02-2005 05:52 PM

I've got a friend that pretty much worships that band. When their latest CD hit stores he about died of excitement.

heavy metal kid 07-02-2005 05:52 PM

I don't know if you too, but i missed Deep Purple, and they played highway star and smoke on the water.

Woodstock 07-02-2005 05:52 PM

Greenday's 90's material is great. They've just seemed to fizzled. I think they're trying to cover up lack of musical quality with image.

AIN'T NOBODY GONNA TAKE MY CAR, GONNA BREAK THE SPEED OF SOUND!

That was a great set, I did what Madey said and saw it on AOL. :thumb:

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-02-2005 05:55 PM

I'm getting sick of the whole "OMG ANARCHY LET'S ATTACK THE GOVERNMENT" style of lyrics. It's all too cliche for me. I mean was pretty rad back in the 70's (Animals comes to mind here) But now they're just doing this monotonous bullshit that has been beaten to a pulp. I find it kind of ironic that those kind of bands have ended up just like the government in doing the same things over and over and over again. :-/

Eh, they have 2 or maybe 3 good CDs, (their first three). After that they definitely fizzled out. I have a friend he is completely in love with them too, thats why they annoy me so much now.

well at least i can hear the original record.

Drugstep 07-02-2005 05:56 PM

I had a freind that was obsessed with Greenday, but about a month later when the next big CD came out she forgot they existed.

Not only is it generic, but I also have a suspicious feeling that they actually have no clue what they're talking about and just making an image for themselves to sell to a new generation who'll believe anything they say.

i'm sick of that too.
imo 60% of the musicians who attack politic issues, are just doin' it for publicity.

Arucard 07-02-2005 06:07 PM

So, everyone is getting angry at Greenday? Hard rocking.

Im watching Live 8, and by far the best band so far have been The Black Eyed Pea's. I love them so much.

Drugstep 07-02-2005 06:09 PM

There performance wasn't great, but as far as the band I like the most, it would probably be Velvet Revolver. I didn't see too much though. What did Slash do at the end, that they edited?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-02-2005 06:10 PM

I remember hearing on the radio about the time that Holiday(Green Day's most recent single) was released. The DJ said something along the lines of "Here is Green Day's new single. If you listen to the lyrics of this track, you can really tell that they are attacking the government in a very controversial way! I think they're going to start a new trend with this style of heavy punk music."

It was top 40 radio.

As usual, i just wanted them to die. I hate Weiland so much, he ruins it for me everytime.
