Peaveys are rocks. Mine is from 1980, and there is only a bit of wear, and the neck is perfect, not a scratch.

I donot remeber much about it other than it had a nice low B and a really punchy powerful tone.

DaveSavesTheDay 11-02-2004 03:01 PM

so , is 500 a good deal for a 5 stringer like that?

risbo 11-02-2004 03:01 PM
Peaveys are rocks. Mine is from 1980, and there is only a bit of wear, and the neck is perfect, not a scratch.
The finish isn't made of rock though...
The finish isn't made of rock though...
The finish on the body isn't. Well, it's not really finished, more of just oiled... scratched up... The neck is flawless..

Foxfire 11-02-2004 03:05 PM

/me needs a fretless 6er >:

Agreed.

DaveSavesTheDay 11-02-2004 03:13 PM

please excuse my noobniss , but what is a humbucker , i know ts some sort of pickup , but what exactly is it

moxshyfter 11-02-2004 03:16 PM

In lamens terms, they're pickups that give the tone somewhere in between a P and J, and they don't buzz nearly as much. You generally see them as soapbars on 5 string basses, but 4s can have them as well.

risbo 11-02-2004 03:16 PM
please excuse my noobniss , but what is a humbucker , i know ts some sort of pickup , but what exactly is it
Double a single coil pickup. They're the wider pickups.

Edit: geuss I was wrong...or kind of right...

DaveSavesTheDay 11-02-2004 03:18 PM
