please explain to me why this album is anything more than stupid bar band shit. The title track is decent but the lyrics are so laughable.
That's exactly what it is. |
Nas - Illmatic
I may need a new pair of boxers after listening to this.
Broooce - Born to Run please explain to me why this album is anything more than stupid bar band shit. The title track is decent but the lyrics are so laughable.
stfu. |
Cursive - Happy Hollow
|
Listening to a horrible acoustic guitar cover of John Cale's "Fear Is a Man's Best Friend" I just did. I only have three strings and I can't sing or keep beat for ****. But was fun to make. Awesome song.
|
as above.
edit: Cursive - Happy Hollow. |
Wu-Tang
Nas Dr.Dre NWA Geto Boys Biggie Ghostface |
Humcrush - Hornswoggle
Strønen's solo album, Pohlitz definitely changed his methods as a percussionist. It makes for an excellent second album. |
Actually, I've not heard either. I've heard ACR are good though, and I have no idea who ESG are. I'll check them both out. Who's your favorite No Wave band/artist, out of interest?
Both of those bands rule. I've been listening to lots of ESG lately, as well as Throbbing Gristle - 20 Jazz Funk Greats Cluster - Zuckerzeit Radio Dept. - Pet Grief Beirut - Gulag Orkestar |
The Beirut album is awesome.
Thanks, pretty good to be back. Nice avatar.
Yeah thanks, heavily digging that band at the moment. The Beach Boys - Smiley Smile / Wild Honey The Presets - Beams XTC - Drums and Wires Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance The Who - Who's Next All new acquisitions. XTC are especially awesome. |
Look Mexico - Call Off Your Lapdog
|
Loads and loads of John Cale.
|
The Beach Boys - Smiley Smile / Wild Honey
Hell yeah, the post-Pet Sounds Beach Boys are massively underappreciated around here. I was rocking out to those two and 20/20 / Friends a few days ago. On vinyl. But now I'm listening to Tindersticks EPs. Because they are the best band. |
Do any of you guys love On Fire by Galaxie 500 as much as I do?
|
Of course. Galaxie 500 are gorgeous! - But I do prefer Today
Testing out Cursive's Happy Hollow and it seems decent thus far. I've never been a big Cursive fan, but I decided to give it a chance. A few great tracks here. |
Of course. Galaxie 500 are gorgeous! - But I do prefer Today
Ooh, I don't have that one. But OiNK! does . |
All new acquisitions. XTC are especially awesome.
Yeah  some of the catchiest new wave stuff ever.
Do any of you guys love On Fire by Galaxie 500 as much as I do?
Speak of the devil, I was driving with my old man today and this really sweet car pulls out in front of us, and he was like "hey, there's a Galaxie 500" and I was like "so that's where the name comes from." Sweet band, too. |
