alright check this **** out, I went to wal-mart today to see what metallica stuff they carried and in the Metallica rack they had 4 cd's that were covers for metallica and I think were badass
The Blackest Album
The Blackest Album II
The Blackest Album III
And some kind of Orchestaestic cover for Metallica

I thought that was cool as hell

FlyingPaul_83 07-14-2005 03:59 PM

Aren't the blackest album tribute albums techno covers?

The one with the orchestra was probably S&M.

Britton 07-14-2005 04:06 PM

I'm not sure about techno but they got an awsome bluegrass and cello stuff

brettberry 07-14-2005 04:10 PM

The Blackest Album III
The Blackest Album IIII
Metallica Punk Tribute
Metal Militia (Includes Motorhead doing Motorbreath!)
Metalli Meyhem
Metallica Ultimate Tribute
Apocalyptica (Four cello-ists)
Metallica and tributes for all (Includes Rob Trujillo before he joined!)

There is a few I know I havn't got...

Metallica Hip Hop tribute is one of them, I am sure there are more by now.

Schecterguitarist 07-14-2005 05:24 PM

I do believe that metallica won't call it quits after a 2006 album. I think that hammet, ulrich, and hetfield are going to want to continue working with robert and try to see where they are going to end up. Besides, why would they want to stop!? some of u have said that they will but havnt sed why they would stop playing.....if u say they are going to quit then please post why so we can get some ideas

I don't think they'll stop either. I see them being kind of like the rolling stones, they'll be rockin until they die or until James is a mute.

Hip Hop tribute? I would hardly call that a tribute... The four celloists actually sounds pretty good, considering I liked S&M. Also the Trujillo one is pretty cool, as is the Blackest Album

brettberry 07-14-2005 05:57 PM

Huber 07-14-2005 07:47 PM

Heh, random Faith...

That song with Ja Rule was no big deal. Cooperating with rappers is nothing to be ashamed of. That song was kinda catchy. They also seemed to be happy to be playing with Metallica, showing more maturity then you're all right now.

Oh no, I meant random as in,

"Whoa, Faith is randomly in this thread all of a sudden."

On another note, this thread has been lacking regulars lately...

Ja Rule and DMX did uinfortuantly, it was on the some kind of monster bonus dvd (disc 2)
Regulars?
There used to be like 10 or 11 of the same people always posting in this thread. it was great, but now I think because of vacation and summer a lot of them aren't here...:(

Not to say any of the newer members here are bad posters. I don't mean it like that.

Schecterguitarist 07-14-2005 09:50 PM

What does everyone think about other covers ppl hav done from metallica like Primus' the Thing That Should Not Be or Sum 41's medly performance of them at the MTV icon awards. One that is sickening to think of is avril lavigne doing Fuel. that just didnt seem right

hallowed_ironmaiden 07-14-2005 09:52 PM

I remember that. Avril sucked, Sum 41 doesn't deserve. Sadly, the best performer was either Staind or Korn

Yeah, they showed it in the "Some Kind of Monster" movie. Metallica recorded some tracks they put together in like five minutes, and a couple gay rappers walked in and talked to Bob Rock. Metallica probably didn't even talk to Ja Rule about it

Ibanex0110 07-14-2005 10:05 PM

I think you guys are getting way too mad about the icon and rapper stuff. It's just those guys showing that they enjoy Metallica's music, just cause they may have done bad or whatever, it doesn't matter.

Metalhead1409 07-14-2005 10:07 PM

what do you mean sadly? Korn and Staind are good bands

hallowed_ironmaiden 07-14-2005 10:08 PM

In my opinion I guess, I don't like Staind, and I'm not into rap-metal
