pixiesfanyo 04-14-2008 02:29 PM

yeah Nacho loves LP2

I swear Vinny Rosenbloom is not a human. This is the craziest drumming I've heard in a long time.
i wanna download something i havent heard before

can someone recommend something pretty chill, catchy interesting songs with like layers of melodies and potentially some electronics and stuff in there
The Books - Lemon Of Pink

You might of heard that before, but it's awesome.

dei 04-14-2008 08:47 PM

Algernon Cadwallader sound like Kinsella.

br3ad_man 04-14-2008 08:55 PM

It's a total ripoff but I guess it's well executed.
Algernon Cadwallader sound like Kinsella.
I didn't know anyone had heard of that band. I saw them once, and they were really cool. I don't have any of their music though.

Tyr 04-15-2008 01:07 PM

They almost sound more like Cap'n Jazz than Cap'n Jazz.
The Books - Lemon Of Pink
yeah Nacho loves LP2
truth

I used to love Diary but I got tired of it, LP2 is less formulaic and holds up better

niobium 04-15-2008 03:34 PM

they could really expand that list past 20

and why put supergrass on the list if it says they're still making quote excellent records

Isaac Butt 04-15-2008 03:43 PM

1. is it really fair to put Biggie on that list
2. the Voidoids are one of "rock's most innovative bands"?
3. Graduation >>>>> College Dropout
4. lol Taking Back Sunday

missing = Jay-Z, the Breeders, Gang of Four, Pavement, Tindersticks, R.E.M.

YDload 04-15-2008 03:59 PM

wait youre nacho? ok

Liebensaft 04-15-2008 04:54 PM
They almost sound more like Cap'n Jazz than Cap'n Jazz.
Yeah, the whole time I ws listening to the cd I downloaded, I was like "This sounds like it could be a Cap'n Jazz album."

Montana 04-15-2008 04:58 PM

Do any of you like the band Why? I saw them last night. They were amazing.

Liebensaft 04-15-2008 04:59 PM

I first heard them maybe a month ago, listened for about a week, then I went and saw them. They were easily one of the best shows I've seen in the last year or so. Great stuff.

dei 04-15-2008 05:51 PM

Elephant Eyelash is the only Why? album I've listened to and it was alright.

Liebensaft 04-15-2008 06:03 PM

I haven't heard that one in its entirety. Alopecia is the one I usually listen to.

A Dead Modernist 04-15-2008 06:53 PM

Why? is really really really good.

dei 04-15-2008 06:58 PM

Liar.

A Dead Modernist 04-15-2008 07:04 PM

No, I swear.

pixiesfanyo 04-15-2008 07:29 PM

Pavement?

Isaac Butt 04-15-2008 07:54 PM

'peaked' yeah

pixiesfanyo 04-15-2008 07:55 PM

yeah, but that list was like bands that only have one good album.

YDload 04-15-2008 07:58 PM

no it was bands whose best album was their first one.

...oh youre saying thats what the list was implicitly.

Isaac Butt 04-15-2008 08:44 PM
yeah, but that list was like bands that only have one good album.
they said otherwise about Supergrass and Biggie

Jacaranda 04-15-2008 09:04 PM
2. the Voidoids are one of "rock's most innovative bands"?
richard hell is like the god father of punk and every new york band that came out in the '80s

Isaac Butt 04-15-2008 09:51 PM

that isn't true

dei 04-15-2008 09:56 PM

Hell, lol.

Jacaranda 04-15-2008 11:06 PM

why isn't it true
thurston moore agrees
what more proof do you need.

dei 04-15-2008 11:57 PM

Thurston Moore was in a shitty band.
