The Great Decay 08-26-2006 04:38 PM

I have listened to Hot Cross, but not recently. I do recall Cryonics being a decent album, though.

Luxor 08-26-2006 04:39 PM

Fair Trades And Farewells > Cryonics > A New Set Of Lungs

The Great Decay 08-26-2006 04:40 PM

I guess I'll have to pick up Fair Trades.. then.

Matt? 08-26-2006 04:41 PM

fair trades and farewells is more impressive but i like the "atmosphere" of cryonics more.

also the view from this tower is decent, but the split with akarso rules.

br3ad_man 08-26-2006 05:46 PM

I went to a record store half an hour away yesterday and got Saetia's A Retrospective and Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run (perfect condition vinyl). $18 for both.

Except I tried to buy some tickets but I didn't have cash and they were closing so I didn't have time to get any cash out. Gheeeey.

The Great Decay 08-26-2006 05:54 PM

A Retrospective is a damn good album, it got me into emo.

Bukowski 08-26-2006 05:57 PM

I'm on a No Wave kick. Liquid Liquid are one groovy band.

It's fantastic. Having the booklet is awesome too, there's little notes from all of the band members and there's lyrics. I quite like the lyrics.

The Great Decay 08-26-2006 06:07 PM

Yeah, their lyrics are one of the things that initially got me into the band. You need to check out Raein, if you haven't. I just finished listening to Il N’y A Pas De Orchestre, and it was brilliant.

masada 08-26-2006 06:08 PM

Before that album wasn't that great to me. For some reason it seems a lot better at the moment. I've never seen it in stores, though. Just one the EP.

Matt? 08-26-2006 06:09 PM

and if you like raein, you should probably check out la quiete cause they're like the same thing but la quiete i like even more.

I've been meaning to check out this band, now I'm even more interested.

Luxor 08-26-2006 06:38 PM

Oh man, La Quiete are sooo good

Anxious 08-26-2006 06:58 PM
I'm on a No Wave kick. Liquid Liquid are one groovy band.
You should check out ESG and A Certain Ratio if you havent already. But you probably have.

Bukowski 08-26-2006 07:06 PM
You should check out ESG and A Certain Ratio if you havent already. But you probably have.
Actually, I've not heard either. I've heard ACR are good though, and I have no idea who ESG are. I'll check them both out. Who's your favorite No Wave band/artist, out of interest?

NineBitFable 08-26-2006 07:17 PM

Silversun Pickups- Carnavas

Really cool record. I think all the comparisons they get to the Smashing Pumpkins are a bit unfair, personally.

br3ad_man 08-26-2006 07:35 PM

I'll have to check out Raein and La Quiete.

Any band that gets approval from both you and Anxious Mo-Fo has got to be good. I'll have to download something by these guys.

done and done

Zappa 08-26-2006 08:36 PM

My mom is getting really into Neu!, especially Neu! '75, so I'm sort of rekindling my love for them.

masada 08-26-2006 08:37 PM

Your mom is cool.

Matt? 08-26-2006 08:37 PM

david bowie- rebel rebel.

this song is everywhere, and everytime i hear that riff it is just as awesome as it was the last time.

Matt? 08-26-2006 10:08 PM
Warrants downloading
I noticed you grabbed that. Whatchu think?

mr_jackalope 08-26-2006 11:55 PM

Revisiting Bee Thousand.

/behind the times

The full release of the latest Yo La Tengo will be coming soon.

Daniel! 08-27-2006 12:43 AM

Sebadoh - III

I bought the reissue today. $14 for two discs worth of some of the best music I've heard in a long time is a good deal in my book.

Robert Crumb 08-27-2006 12:59 AM

Long listening day, listened to some Ornette Coleman, Pharoah Sanders, John Cale and Gram Parsons. Currently listening to Lula Côrtes & Zé Ramalho's Paêbirú, which is some pretty cool Brazilian psychedelic stuff. Good day, all in all.

pixiesfanyo 08-27-2006 02:07 AM

I think I'll be digging this dub cd I picked up.

br3ad_man 08-27-2006 02:28 AM

Sekiden - Junior Fiction

I hope I get to see this band again soon.
