BlindWriting 09-01-2005 08:58 AM
I hope there's a song on there that's so heavy, my legs fall off
Oh god yes.

Why would you want another Ænima? That cds been done already. Plus we know its going to be heavier and more progressive then Lateralus... That'll be great. Thats the direction I want to see. :thumb: As long as they still have a few good soft moments, I hope the rest is really heavy. :D

Reywas 09-01-2005 09:59 AM

I hope the new CD is released after Chinese Democracy.

penelope_weird_hands 09-01-2005 10:06 AM

organic with dynamics and insanely good lyrical content = me happy.

judging by most previous releases.. i will be happy with the next album.

godspeed you bastards. give us something soon ..!
I hope the new CD is released after Chinese Democracy.
Don't even get me started on Chinese Democracy's release date...
Plus we know its going to be heavier and more progressive then Lateralus... That'll be great.
wow... heavy and progressive :D i can't wait. but i hope they will have some songs which are calm... 2-3 of these songs and i am happy...

hey... what when tool will release an album with only 2-3songs, which are 20-30min long... i'm going crazy when i imagine this... it would be sooo ****ing GREAT.
I hope the new CD is released after Chinese Democracy.
he's doing the album since .. hm... 6yrs now... i don't think it will ever be released

Reywas 09-01-2005 11:05 AM

I think 6 years is an understatment.I hope new songs from tool are gonna be in the line of Faaip The Oiad.Scary music.

All i've got to say is if it aint broke...

Why would you want to hear them do the same thing they've done for?

Or did I misunderstand.

No, i meant continue along their progressive road, but keep to Tool's basic ideals.

People are talking about major downtunings, weird tracks and a fully metal album, where I think focusing on one path is not the tool way of doing things.

Though a leg destroying heavy track is welcome :)

BlindWriting 09-01-2005 11:11 AM

I think we should all rest assured, it's going to be amazing no matter what kind of album they put out.

I mean come on.

Who are we kidding.

This is Tool, people.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-01-2005 11:14 AM

They're like the son thats never told a lie and is always back home before 11.

Pessamist in me againis saying 'you can trust a band that has made a bad record to bounce back, but one that has been consistently good is always due a slip up'

kurrpt 09-01-2005 11:14 AM

agreed, but thats obvious

Darkness 09-01-2005 11:41 AM

This better not be Tools 'slip up', theres simply to much anticipation. I'd probably die if this record sucked... well thats an exageration.

Shadius 09-01-2005 11:54 AM

There was huge anticipation for the last one too, they milk us like cows.

I imagine the next record will be a great one, though whether we all enjoy it as much as previous releases is yet to be seen.

As for different tunings. I imagine there will be some songs with odd tuning on there. Another drop B song maybe, or something more strange.

Darkness 09-01-2005 11:59 AM

They should stick with Drop D and a few songs in drop B would be sweet to. Whatever it is, we know Adam and Justin can deliver.

Prince of Darkness 09-01-2005 12:40 PM

yeah. Tool really can't make something bad. All the albums will always be good in it's own, strange way.

I hope they have long, epic songs, like Third Eye or even longer. They should make a classic epic song that over 20minutes, like Octavarium. That would rock.

Oh yeah. What happens when the Compact Disk(CD) falls away and DVD takes its place. What would the playing time of the albums be?

dUSK 09-01-2005 12:41 PM

L.K. anyone? :D

actually, they are coming out with a new format of DVD that uses a blue laser

albums havent gotten any longer (maybe a few minutes) since the 40s. I doubt bands would be releasing more tracks per album as well

Prince of Darkness 09-01-2005 12:50 PM

But I bet people like Tool would like make huge length albums....but then again, they would most probably not bring out another album and just let us suffer more......

...But you see what I mean. If artists had 4.6Gb/120min to work with...they wouldn't mind.

dUSK 09-01-2005 12:55 PM
...But you see what I mean. If artists had 4.6Gb/120min to work with...they wouldn't mind.
If I remember correctly, having albums released like that would result in the same sort of quality you would recieve on DTS disc (I'm pretty sure they are the size of DVD's, but not certain). Someone here got Deadwing as a DTS disc I believe, so they may already be implementing releases like that.

superpeer 09-01-2005 01:11 PM

Listening to Undertow now and I must say that it's A LOT better than Aenima. At least something's happening.

BlindWriting 09-01-2005 01:13 PM

Undertow's definitely an easier listen, and even though it's the darkest and angriest, it still has some artsy aspects that would develope more during Aenima.

superpeer 09-01-2005 01:17 PM

My thoughts were more like 'Hey, this isn't as boring' :p

BlindWriting 09-01-2005 01:19 PM

Haha.

But I didn't really like Aenima on the first couple listens that much either. Stinkfist, Eulogy, Hooker were the ones I liked, but I took me a little while to really enjoy songs like H., Pushit, and Third Eye.

As I've said before, it's Lateralus > Aenima > Undertow > Opiate for me.

Yeah and they make Music DVD with albums on them aswell, but only with album released on cd before that.
They should really use the ful capability of the dvd, for its huge amounts of space/length and its unbelievable sound qaulity. I's going to happen. We should just wait it out. :thumb:

BlindWriting 09-01-2005 01:24 PM

DualDiscs really didn't take off the way a lot of people thought they would.

Prince of Darkness 09-01-2005 01:26 PM

Daul Discs? Don't really think I know what you mean....like 2 discs?
