I'm digging Minus the Bear.

Such a great end of the summer band.

It makes me sad though.
yeah the only way i can listen to them in winter is if i put "Hooray" on repeat :-/

also good for end of the season: "Celebrated Summer"

Anxious 08-25-2006 05:48 PM

This cool Minutemen bootleg I found in a torrent site. It's the latest performance of them I've ever heard (10-24-85). Its in .flac which I have regarded as a useless format. It takes up waaaay more space than an MP3, and theres almost no noticible difference.

Andrew Hill - Black Fire

I was listening to it passively awhile ago so I don't really know if I like it or not.

Tangy zizzle 08-25-2006 10:21 PM

Hot Snakes - Thunder Down Under

It's pretty cool in itself, but coupled with the nostalgia of seein' them play these very songs last year - makes it superb.

Also been diggin' on The Buzzcocks and the Black Lips.

asdf 08-25-2006 11:18 PM

Tuxedomoon - Half Mute
Tuxedomoon - Desire
XTC - English Settlement

It went from 1980 to 1983, which was pretty neat. English Settlement brings back my childhood.

Glitterati 08-25-2006 11:59 PM

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

aka music to slash your wrists to

Dog 08-26-2006 12:22 AM

They're awesome. Jazz+Post-Hardcore.

Interstate 08-26-2006 11:05 AM

Notorious B.I.G - Ready To Die

Definitely in my top 5 hip hop albums. I've played the shit out of this and it still blows my mind.

Zebra 08-26-2006 11:18 AM

Lightning Bolt - Wonderful Rainbow

I'm listening to this straight through for my first time. It's really crazy stuff and good to listen to if I want to get myself pumped up.

I honestly don't hear any hardcore in this band, but people keep saying that. I have "The View From This Tower", do I have the wrong album or something?

I hear Post-Hardcore in there for sure

JonM 08-26-2006 12:37 PM

I probably can't be said to be "digging" this record yet, but I just got Galactic Supermarket by The Cosmic Jokers, and it's the craziest Krautrock I've heard yet.

I'm seriously addicted to this album. "Cut Self Not" is probably one of my favourite album-openers.

It's impossible to not enjoy that record.

Luxor 08-26-2006 04:32 PM

I found it to be really boring.

The Great Decay 08-26-2006 04:33 PM

That baffles my mind. The guitar work is phenomenal.

Luxor 08-26-2006 04:35 PM

Sounds similar to Hot Cross. I'm sure you already listen to them, but if you don't...
