For some reason I don't like 4 Degrees... does nothing for me. Undertows best are the first 4 and Flood. The rest isn't the best they've done, but still decent.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-31-2005 09:36 PM

Four Degrees is awesome. The high point on Undertow happens during that song.

"Let meeeeeeeeeeeeee in"

BlindWriting 08-31-2005 09:38 PM

Maynard's vocals on Undertow were brilliant. I love the part in Flood, during the silence, when he goes, "I was wrong, this changes everything." Something about that is so great.

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-31-2005 09:42 PM
Yeah on Danny's favourite album's of all time was one of rushes albums might I add I found it in dissectional
I always knew he had such great musical taste.

*Is listening to 2112 right now...*

Rothmans 08-31-2005 09:43 PM

Flood is by far my favourite song on that album its amazing so is crawl away and that doesnt get the repsect it needs, same with undertow aswell though :/

Darkness 08-31-2005 09:43 PM

I like the part where hes like "Cleanse and purge me in the water!!".. thats sweet. 4 Degrees is ok, nice to listen to a slower song after the hearing the rest of the cd, but I donno.. it just doesn't appeal to me.

Rothmans 08-31-2005 09:49 PM

I went through a stage of preffering Undertow for ages then I slapped on Lateralus

Darkness 08-31-2005 09:59 PM

Lateralus is still my favorite. As much as I like Ænima, I think its missing something when compared to Lateralus... (yet everyone else thinks its the other way around..)

Lateralus stands as my favorite record of all time. :D

Rothmans 08-31-2005 10:01 PM

Same here everyone seems to love AEnima here but it pales in comparsion to Lateralus imo.

Endless Obsession 08-31-2005 10:04 PM

Lateralus > Ænima

BlindWriting 08-31-2005 10:29 PM

In my opinion, each Tool release got better. Hopefully the trend will continue with the new one.

Rothmans 08-31-2005 10:32 PM

Hopefully anyway, all this anticapation is pretty agravating at this point.

To be quite honest I am starting to get turned ott Tool heavily I cant remember the last time I played one of there albums let alone one of there songs. :/

Yeah. That'd be nice. I don't expect something greater than Laterlus though. If I get to antsy about it being Lateralus 2.0 than when I listen to it first I'll think it's garbage, because like Lateralus it took some time to sink in.

My thoughts exactly.

Darkness 08-31-2005 10:49 PM

The first time I listened to Lateralus, it just clicked. I knew I loved them after The Grudge. I think the cds got better to.
Undertow (LP-1993)
Necrosaurus(LP-1995)
Ænima (LP-1996)
Can anyone explain whats the deal with the album 'Necrosaurus'? Is it a fake or does it exist?

Spiritofmosa 09-01-2005 05:44 AM

i like tool - H.

Just look at the name. I'd go with either:

1) Fake, a la fake albums in the Ænima booklet.

2) A possible unofficial bootleg, but it even almost sounds too bad for that.

Me too. Well, actually i'm listening to Undertow now, but this is the first time in ages. I think this will all change when their new album comes out though.

kurrpt 09-01-2005 06:37 AM

i hoping this new CD is heavy as fuk

I'd go with 3. Fake as in, just something completely random written on a random message bord, by someone we don't know (apparently, since MJK doesn't remember writing it)... I hate how rumours get started so easily

Kage 09-01-2005 07:56 AM

I hope it's not.

Shadius 09-01-2005 07:59 AM

I hope it has it's heavy moments, but I just want an excellent CD, and the whole thing being really really heavy wouldn't be an excellent CD for me.

That's what I was going for, but you articulated it better. :p

Actually, I wouldn't mind if it wasn't heavy at all. But it will be, because it's Tool.

blasphemy

Prince of Darkness 09-01-2005 08:09 AM

Ha. i stand Corrected. There was a Necrosaurus. I didn't say it was real, but I did say MJK posted it in his write-up.

/proud

repcak 09-01-2005 08:31 AM

i expect a more calmer cd, like Aenima. Lateralus was (imo) heavier than Aenima.

in fact i don't mind. hey, it's tool! if it will be heavy or not, i'm sure it will be a excellent record.

Prince of Darkness 09-01-2005 08:37 AM

Lateralus has a lot of chilled(ish?) songs, but so did Aenema. But Aenema had more rough edge than Lateralus. Yeah. I do hope the new one has it's heavy moments, but not to heavy...I heard they're inspired by Mashuggah on this album? That could make it too heavy. But, yeah. It's Tool, and they allways seem to impress.

repcak 09-01-2005 08:41 AM

when they really got inspired by meshuggah, the next record can be really interesting!! even if that means that it will be a heavy one...

denboy 09-01-2005 08:48 AM

I hope there's a song on there that's so heavy, my legs fall off

kurrpt 09-01-2005 08:49 AM
