if my rep dipped too low would my stars go away? and i've seen people with only 3 stars, whats the deal with that?

and i'm sure Dylan is very tired of playing the same song set over the past four decades, i wouldn't blame him for playing new songs.

edit - how do you know what your rep is worth? like when you give it to other people?
Only if you give it to some one and they tell how much you added. Last time I checked I was giving out 42.

MC5 12-24-2004 07:20 PM
And yeah, classic rock is becoming extremely popular among teenagers.
Yeah the most popular band at my school among the 8 grade is AC/DC.Other really popular bands are Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.I dont know how it got this way.Every other grade listens to Yellow card and blink 182.

RockAndRoll 12-24-2004 11:26 PM
how could we get one? do i need AIM?
Yes, you do need AIM.

RockAndRoll 12-24-2004 11:40 PM

I hope I get some good albums for christmas.

thickasabrick 12-24-2004 11:41 PM

well i have to open all my main presents on christmas eve with my grandpa and his family, and then some smaller ones on new years day with my grandma and her family.

my grandparents got divorced and they can't be in the same room without fighting, so we have to split christmas up.

tomorrow my grandma will give me a toonie, and an Archie comic...as she does every year.

edit- me trying to explain why i opened some presents tonight to badmoon.

Helstrem00 12-24-2004 11:43 PM

You guys are starting to get a little off topic ... I thought this was supposed to be a classic rock forum ... correct me if I'm wrong .... Personally I listen to non-stop metal but I grew up on Beatles and Steve Miller Band along with The Who, The Doors, Rush and Heart. Im a drummer in a metal band now but if it hadnt been for those bands I would have never picked up a drumstick and started making my own music.

Oh, and Merry Christmas to everyone ... Have a good one

Badmoon 12-24-2004 11:47 PM

Please do not come in here accusing us about being on topic when you are trailing off yourself.

Welcome, and have a merry Christmas also :).

thickasabrick 12-24-2004 11:56 PM

merry Christmas!

and i'm glad to see you mentioned Steve Miller Band. Most people would leave them out on an initial classic rock band naming post. i really like them, have a few of their albums.

here's that painting i made of jim morrison a long while back. i think i've mentioned it before, maybe in a different thread though

and who's that handsome devil? (i apoligize, my hair is very poofy today)

edit- for some reason the picture of the jim morrison painting didn't turn out well.

thickasabrick 12-24-2004 11:58 PM

what are some good albums by Heart? i own Dreamboat Annie, and i'm very pleased with it. Do they have any other good albums?

Illmatic 12-25-2004 12:03 AM

...Heart? Are you kidding me?

thickasabrick 12-25-2004 12:05 AM

Heart = good songwriting, good guitar playing, good singing.

nothing too amazing from them, but i enjoy listening to them.

and no, i am not kidding you.

Badmoon 12-25-2004 12:27 AM

I'm really into Polyphonic Spree now. They are a fantastic and original group.

Seafroggys 12-25-2004 12:38 AM

Wohoo! Christmas Eve is just over, and I opened presents from grandparents and aunt/uncle (tomorrow morning is the parents and sibling).

I got Who Are You and Aqualung! I just listened to Aqualung tonight, and I must say its a sweet album (I've d/led Aqualung the song and Locomotive Breath). I've already listened to my dad's Who Are You vinyl (and it has a printed cover too on the disc).

thickasabrick 12-25-2004 11:42 AM

that's pretty awesome schyma, as well as jpjrulestheworld and magicbus.

so what can you all play on your harmonica?

DeusExMachina 12-25-2004 11:42 AM

I know they're not technically classic rock, but they have a good sound, and I don't really know how to classify them at all so... what does everyone think of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones? Unbelievably talented, in my opinion. Victor Wooten does way better with them than when he's solo.

thickasabrick 12-25-2004 11:45 AM

i read that Dylan book for about two hours last night, i fell asleep with it in my hands and when i woke up i had folded a page over and now im mad.
