I'm curious, what are you guys usually doing when you listen to Post-Rock. Cause given its sometimes sleepy nature, I try not to drive while listening to it.

NemesisDivina 08-07-2007 08:32 PM

sitting and thinking

Dimmu Burger 08-07-2007 08:33 PM
sitting and thinking
Its funny, cause I listen to music so that I don't have to sit and think lol. It keeps my mind from drifting endlessly and overanalysing my life.

Concubine 08-07-2007 08:36 PM

use it as a background music

i like listening to post rock while doing homework

Dimmu Burger 08-07-2007 08:38 PM
i like listening to post rock while doing homework
Now I can understand that, its not too distracting.

Good argument.
I can't believe anyone could call Catch Without Arms mediocre.

Why is catchy a bad thing?

The Door Mouse 08-07-2007 09:22 PM

How do you all feel about Laura-Radio Swan is Down? I'm downloading it right now so tell me what to expect.

Eliminator 08-07-2007 09:25 PM

you should expect sluts bursting into your room as soon as you click "play".

The Door Mouse 08-07-2007 09:26 PM

Why, thank you.

NemesisDivina 08-07-2007 09:28 PM

i love that album, i doubt youll be disappointed

Kage 08-07-2007 10:00 PM

Yeah, if you like generic post rock then you will not be disappointed.

publicastration 08-08-2007 12:04 AM
Yep, that's a pretty damn good album. I still have to listen to Made Out of Babies (one of the parent bands of Battle of Mice) and see what I think about them. They also have Julie Christmas on vocals.

On Jesu's Conquerer: I appreciate Jesu, and they're interesting and pretty good, but their later albums are a little to synth-heavy (or whatever that is) for my tastes.
Made Out Of Babies are great. Much different than Battle Of Mice though.

Julie Christmas is a new crush of mine. <3

Kage 08-08-2007 12:44 AM

Julie Christmas, that sounds like a pornstar's name.

AlienEater 08-08-2007 04:18 PM

both Made Out of Babies and Battle of Mice are good

MOOB (lol) were disappointing live though

Zebra 08-11-2007 03:05 PM

Battle of Mice are awesome. I just wish that they had more albums.

A Dead Modernist 08-11-2007 05:13 PM

Sparrows Swarm and Sing...anyone heard their stuff? pretty cool. a tad generic.

How is it generic?

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-13-2007 03:55 PM

bark psychosis is pretty sweet

TojesDolan 08-30-2007 04:50 PM

Yeah they are. I'm digging Caspian but they sound a lot like Explosions in The Sky so that may be why.

The Door Mouse 08-30-2007 05:28 PM

I love Explosions in the Sky. I should probably check out Caspian if they sound like them.

TojesDolan 08-30-2007 05:37 PM

Let me rep you a link to them.

The Door Mouse 08-30-2007 05:37 PM

Cool.

Surf 08-30-2007 05:39 PM

Cam I get a hit of that tojes man?

I'm liking explosions in the sky alot lately so yeah

The Door Mouse 08-30-2007 06:17 PM

Tojes, your link is downloading abnormally slow. It's only at 75% right now and I started it about 40 min ago.

big80smullet 08-30-2007 07:02 PM

Im digging EITS, Russian Circles, GYBE, and The Samuel Jackson Five at the moment. Any recomendations of some other good stuff?

NemesisDivina 08-30-2007 07:55 PM

Jesu

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-30-2007 11:51 PM

I should get some SJ5. Sound good.

LifeInABox 08-30-2007 11:57 PM

I assume we have talked about Neurosis and Isis itt? They're Post Metal, but it's sorta the same thing.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-30-2007 11:58 PM

Yes but it always boils down to Cocaine coming in and telling everyone that Isis ain't got **** on Neurosis.

So we don't bring them up.

LifeInABox 08-31-2007 12:00 AM

"Isis is Neurosis for pussies"

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-31-2007 12:01 AM

"Poor man's Neurosis" mostly.

Silly canadien.

LifeInABox 08-31-2007 12:08 AM

 I hadn't heard that one.

Angmar 08-31-2007 12:18 AM

tbh

Neurosis>Isis

LifeInABox 08-31-2007 12:21 AM

I dunno. They're pretty even in my book.

Iron Bars 08-31-2007 05:21 AM

Mine too, they sound to differend on later records (though the base is pretty much the same for both bands).
