Another brain-teaser for ya - Dan Swano.

Member of Edge of Sanity, Nightingale, Bloodbath, Unicorn [SWE], Pan.Thy.Monium, Godsend, Karaboudjan, Infestdead, Steel [SWE], Subway Mirror, Odyssey [SWE]

And his solo record, Moontower, has some good reviews. Anyone heard it?

lightningmetal666 08-14-2005 05:55 PM
It's pretty mediocre. I wouldn't recommend it.
What album is Master of Disharmony on? (dimmu borgir)

Riva 08-14-2005 05:58 PM
Should I get the black dalihia murder- mismia or Mastodon-levithian
I've heard them both and I really like them which one would you say is better
Mastodon - Leviathan. It's a very good album, and BDM bores me for some reason.

Probably because all thier songs sound the same. I agree go with Mastadon, you won't be disappointed.

GenuineImitation 08-14-2005 08:30 PM

Can someone recommend me some Danzig. All I have really heard was Mother, Twist of Cain and a few other songs. Thanks.

Larry LaLonde 08-14-2005 08:34 PM
Can someone reccomend me the good Megadeth CDs, and Nirvana ones?
definitely Rust In Peace. Peace Sells, So Far, So Good...So What? was good. ive heard great things about Killing is My Business...And Business is Good. Countdown to Extinction was on the brinkline if suck, IMO, but its still ok.

Larry LaLonde 08-14-2005 08:35 PM

Larry LaLonde 08-14-2005 08:37 PM
doe sanyone recommend Dimmu Borgir or the Dillinger Escape Plan? ive heard of em, just never listened.
I'm not familiar with Dimmu Borgir but DEP are a good band if you enjoy unusual/technical guitar work and can tolerate screamo vocals.

If you want someone to upload some songs so that you actually listen to these bands you should go here: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=348135&page=1&pp=25

Try Cannibal Corpse. I don't really care for the excessive growling but the
guitar is freakin' awesome. It's just as heavy, if not heavier that Slayer.
Mastodon - Leviathan. It's a very good album, and BDM bores me for some reason.
I've heard their songs Blood & Thunder and Iron Tusk, but can you recommend some other good stuff by them.

Hells Bells 08-15-2005 06:11 PM
What album is Master of Disharmony on? (dimmu borgir)
It's on Enthrone Darkness Triumphant.

DemonicRubberDucky 08-15-2005 06:31 PM

Hey, can anyone show me some bands similiar to Zeke? hard guitar riffs, very simple drumming, yelling lyrics, and songs that rarely bypass 1:30?

Thanks, guys :)

Toxik 08-16-2005 06:49 PM

Can anybody tell me some melodic death bands/songs that have clean singing other than In Flames?

Opeth

Those are really the only one's i can think at this moment.

White Goodman 08-16-2005 08:34 PM

Can someone recommend me a Doom Metal band with clean vocals, if one exists. I already know of Katatonia but I don't really think they are doom metal.

And also what genre would Interpol be considered and what would be some of the closests bands to them.

Thanks for any recommendations.

EDIT: I also need some good grind bands to DL.
Which Iron Maiden album should I get first, I was thinking, Seventh Son of a Seventh son or the Trooper but are their bette rones than those
For a starter album I would go for Number Of The Beast or Powerslave because those are their most popular.

flamesofbodom 08-17-2005 06:09 PM

What are some bands related to At The Gates, Kalmah, Wintersun, In Flames, etc.?
I bought the Edward the great, greatest hits album

That all depends on what Incubus sound you're looking for.

Fungus Amongus for their heavily primus/Bungle influenced sound
S.C.I.E.N.C.E for their nu-metal influenced sound
Make Yourself for their rock/mellow sound
A Crow Left of the Murder for their proggy/jazz sound.
I bought the Edward the great, greatest hits album

For a more funky/experimental sound, S.C.I.E.N.C.E is the album for you. If you like their evolved, mellow sound, you cant go wrong with Morning View or Make Yourself

Tracks for fun: A Certain Shade of Green, Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity love song), Echo, Blood on the Ground, Aqueous Transmission, Battlestar Scralachtica, The Warmth

Mr. Black 08-18-2005 03:06 PM

Yeh, Thanks for that, **** this thread has it's uses

I've been wanting to check out some Napalm Death when they switched from grind to straight forward death metal. I heard that Utopia Banished has some elements of grindcore in it, for a kind-of combination album.

zeppelinfan63 08-19-2005 11:27 AM

i was wantin to no some good black label society songs or clutch songs

I need the absolute "must have" Rush CD"s.

Nathanbot 08-19-2005 12:12 PM

Can anyone recommend me some Amon Amarth?

Stoic 08-19-2005 12:16 PM

i dont think amon amarth have released a bad album. My personal favourites are versus the world and the avenger.

Toxik 08-19-2005 12:34 PM

I'm looking for some more bands that have harsher vocals mixed with clean singing. Bands I like that do this: Opeth, In flames, Shadows Fall, Trivium, Soilwork, Dark Tranquility.
