I'm seeing Plan B tonight. Dunno what to expect, but it was cheap so I don't really care.

ATM 02-08-2007 05:48 PM

Let us know how it was.

Possibly the best East Coast rap album ever.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-09-2007 07:07 PM

I don't know whether it's just my computer, but that link just showed a blank page.

edit: unless that was the joke oshi

Same here.

It says (GIF Image, 1x1 pixels) so i'm guessing that's why.

ATM 02-09-2007 10:55 PM

You guys heard the new Brother Ali yet?

badtaste 02-10-2007 08:07 AM

Anyone heard the notorious BIG 'Duets -the final chapter' album. It's alright, only really enjoy 'Nasty Girl' and its sexist lyrics though.

"I go, on and on and on and
Don't take them to the crib unless they bon'in
Easy, call em on the phone and
platinum Chanel cologne and
I stay, dressed, to impress
Spark these bitches interest
Sex is all I expect
If they watch TV in the Lex, they know
They know, quarter past fo'
Left the club tipsy, say no mo'
Except how I'm gettin home, tomorrow
Caesar drop you off when he see his P.O.(hey)
Back of my mind, I hope she swallow
Man She spilt a drink on my cream wallows
Reach the gate, hungry just ate
Riffin, she got to be to work by eight
This must mean she ain't tryin to wait
Conversate, sex on the first date I state "You know what you do to me"
She starts off, "Well I don't usually"
Then I, whip it out, rubber no doubt
Step out, show me what you all about
Fingers in your mouth, open up your blouse
Pull your G-string down South, aoowww
Threw that back out, in the parking lot
By a Cherokee and a green drop-top
And I don't stop, until I squirt
Jeans skirt butt-naked it all work"

Nah, it was supposed to be Kool G Rap & DJ Polo's Live and Let Die, which is seen as the birth of mafioso rap. The beats are amazing and Kool G is nice as always.

Robert Crumb 02-10-2007 03:40 PM

I hate to quote Edan but, "Kool G Rap was prolly da sickest of all a dem."

I just realized, the new Young Jeezy was the best album of 2006. Even better than Hell Hath No Fury.

ATM 02-11-2007 10:06 PM

Yea I saw Blackalicious last summer, it was so good.

On The Run is so good.

niobium 02-12-2007 06:44 AM

Everytime I see Mr. Lif I think Mr. Dibbs, and I get excited.

Mr. Lif was cool on THUG though.

ATM 02-12-2007 07:25 AM

Mr. Lif hasn't put out a bad release. I love Sleepyheads
I hate to quote Edan but, "Kool G Rap was prolly da sickest of all a dem."
Kool G's albums with DJ Polo are the triumvirate of rap.

Kyle 02-12-2007 06:20 PM
Let us know how it was.
Plan B was pretty decent. The crowd was full of horrible, horrible people and the set list wasn't great, but his songs sound much better live.

ATM 02-12-2007 07:56 PM

Did he have a band?

Kyle 02-13-2007 05:16 AM

Yeah, I guess that's what really made his sound so good. You really notice the drums when they're coming from a real live drum kit.

sgrevs 02-13-2007 05:29 AM

I don't know any Plan B. What's he like? Would I like?

Kyle 02-13-2007 06:07 AM

err, I'm not sure he would be your thing actually. It's backed by an acoustic guitar which he plays aswell, but he gets pretty aggressive at times.

Have you checked out the new Wisemen album yet? Bronze Nazareth handles production on this one.

sgrevs 02-15-2007 02:35 AM

The song's alright, not really something I'd look into though. Thanks anyway.

Interstate 02-15-2007 06:19 AM

I recently bought The Sagas Of by Klashnekoff - it's amazing. This London born MC has certainly got some skills.

He needs to stop throwing "A Day To God Is 1000 Years" on every single on of his releases, but I like it alot. Was really impressed with Phille and Kevlaar 7 on Great Migration and they hold up well on this one.

ATM 02-17-2007 08:05 AM

hellll yea

Good show coming up:
BROTHER ALI, PSALM ONE, OneBeLo, PRO and REG

Sun Zoo 02-17-2007 12:57 PM

uh....may i humbly suggest myself (again) but this time a whole new album of material? the kind of stuff you guys are talking about, you may very well like this...

if i may....http://sun-zoo.com....it's oh-so-free and delicious...

Midnight Marauders > Low End Theory

Who's with me?

sgrevs 02-17-2007 09:12 PM

No, Low End Theory ftw I think. I haven't listened to MM in a while, though.
