Talking Heads !

Anyway. For once (possibly the first time ever) the weather kind of ruined my day. I was planning on taking my mam's digital camera to the house I used to live in (before we got kicked out), to try and get some pictures, to show friends down in Leeds and such where I used to live. But there's quite a storm going on outside, which scuppers that idea completely.

Where in England are you now because it is just cloudy up here

superpeer 04-15-2005 09:44 AM

I don't understand "Seacrest Out" Either, but I never asked.

Bartender 04-15-2005 09:46 AM

EDIT for Antihero: "Pop Idol" was the one in England which, I think, inspired American Idol.

I always assumed it was his name on Counterstrike or something, before I kind of accidentally caught the last five minutes of a showing of American Idol.
Where in England are you now because it is just cloudy up here

Ryan Seacrest is the host of the American version of "American Idol." I'm not sure what the name of the equivalent show is in the other countries, but I'm well aware that there are versions of this show.

He's basically a metrosexual, and everytime he signs off, he says, "Seacrest... out !"
Oh. :) That makes sense, I hate that show, if it is the same, which I assume it is.

It's just called "Idool *Insert year*" and it annoys me because everyone is hysterical about it.

What's up guys. Right now I'm terrified that my girlfriend's gonna break up with me. :(
Bartender:

Man, I guess we steal all your shows... first Whose Line Is It Anyway?, then Distraction, then Pop Idol, etc. I know that there are other shows, but these are the three we've talked about in the chats most that I can remember.
Don't forget Red Dwarf. America stole that and then totally and utterly destroyed it

Bartender 04-15-2005 10:04 AM

Just for a pilot, thankfully.

She's been acting very strange lately. She rarely appears as happy to see me as she used to, and is less happy in my company. Also, we feel very uncomfortable around each other when we're alone, because the last time we had quality "alone time" was before spring break. We've had alone time since then, but it's been bad. We tried to force it this one time because we knew that we would have all this free time that we never have with which to spend some good time together and fool around, but neither of us were really in the mood and so it ended up forced and unsatisfactory. We've been uncomfortable with the idea ever since. Also, I think she's only just now realized how fast the year has gone by and how much of it she's spent as my girlfriend, and she might be thinking that it's gone by too fast and she needs to get some space. She says she still likes me a lot, and of course I still like her, but the idea that I've sort of outlasted my "usefulness" or whatever is nagging me, and probably her too.
That sucks, Cain. I feel your pain, kinda.
:) I understand, thanks.

I'm not really scared that we'll hate each other if we break up, but I'm freaking out that I won't be able to talk to a lot of my friends without any awkwardness...and that coupled with the fact that I still like her a lot is really bothering me. It'll cast a pretty dark pall over the end of my year as well. :-/

I hope she doesn't want to break up with me.

My girl and I went through a period like that. Just keep a positive outlook on life. She and I have been going for 1.5 years now, and we've had ups and downs. It comes with being in a relationship with someone you care for deeply. Small words can mean big things with someone you love.

Just learn to deal with intimacy, or lack thereof. I'm nowhere near the horny bastard I used to be, and my life hasn't come crashing down.

Just let her know your feelings haven't changed, and you don't feel awkward around her.
