Any of you guys know/like Ostinato? I just got an album, and it's ****ing amazing!
Chasing The Form is the only Ostinato I have. Since when did you get all punch drunk in love over generic post rock? There's not really anything special about them.
i really like the Laura that was sent out in the DU a couple days ago
I Hope has some of the most beautiful vocals of all time, off of Radio Swan Is Down.
@Anthony: :( I don't know, haha. I really like them, I guess my music taste sucks lately...but what the ****.
Nah, just sounds like a post rock craze. Ostinato isn't bad by any means, just nothing special. You heard The Spheres? They're kind of like a better version of them.
Speaking of generic post rock, I just got this album by As The Poets Affirm with like the coolest name ever - I Want To Tell My Heart To You But I Cannot Say English. |
Generic post rock is good sometimes. But other times I want to ****ing kill anyone in a generic pr band. |
If I'm in a real big post rock mood, I can listen to generic stuff and really enjoy it. But unless I really want to hear that, I can't stand it. I'm just really tired of all these bands that sound exactly like Caspian.
Haha, nice name.
And I have heard of The Shperes but not their music, I'll look into them later. I have a really big waiting list right now, and I haven't even unzipped like 15 albums :( |
I've got like 300 unlistened albums on my computer haha. I like staying about 200 or so albums ahead of myself. I like having options.
I'm about to reach 125 gigs man, I need to delete some stuff that I never listen to.
I was right around that before my hd crashed, a little bit less. I'm a little bit stricter on what I download now, not so many blind downloads and stuff, so I've only got about 40 now.
I rarely blind download tbqh.
I do all the time. It's fun. Not nearly as much as I used to though.

I'm getting a new 500 GB hard drive soon. Oh, glory!
Jacob, thanks for the Pirate Ship Quintet link btw. Downloading now.
No problem dude, I'm like the king of fwding links that other people have sent me. Haley Joel Osmond would love me.

I hear ya man, right now I'm OK but at the rate I'm d/ling music my computer will be at full capacity in about 5 months. |
and to think that all that space is being wasted on **** music
I finally actually bought Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn today.

Ah I love Caspian. I know generic post rock can be hard to listen to at times, but you get that in any genre that you explore really. |
That's true enough. But with post rock people tend to act like those Caspian sounding bands are revolutionary just because they are post rock.
Tortoise anyone? I got a hold of TNT and it's really quite excellent. When I was looking into the band and the label Post Rock kept coming up I was a little apprehensive since I'm not mad on Post Rock, but I'm glad I checked them out. Very glad.
Tortoise is definitely essential. They have a totally unique sound, and are one of the first post rock bands that ever picked up any momentum.
Get Millions... next because it's their best.
Tortoise are great, get the s/t next if you like TNT.
no get millions
And then the s/t.
I Set My Face To The Hillside is probably the greatest post rock song of all time.
