I always do the best first term, because that's when everything is still easy. **** gets far more complicated as the year goes on. This year has been my best year ever as far as grades go, though. Last year I don't think I even got one A.

There was an article in my school newspaper (god that sounds so lame that I would read my school's newspaper) about adopting the same system of "Good grades = no exams". How does yours actually work? I REALLY like that idea.

My state's version of TAKS, MCAS, is mandatory for us, though. Regardless. Mine is next week, but it's english this year, so it's pretty easy.

But of course I have two major projects due the same week. Christ.

I only had 2 exams this year. One was in-class and fairly easy. I then had math and science. My math I went into with a 91%, came out with a 91%, got like 90% on the exam. My science wasn't that bad. I went in with a 75%, got 75% on the exam, came out with a 77%. Don't ask how it went up 2%, but it did.

Your science teacher's thought process:

"He's stupid, but he's got a sweet ***, I think I'll give him an extra 2%. One for each beautiful cheek".

Ours is if you are exempt if you have:
a) no abscenses and an 80+
b) 1 abscense and an 85+
c) 2 abscenses and a 90+

If you have 2+ abscenses, you aren't exempt. Every grade has to take 1 exam though. Like 9th is math and 10th is science, and I don't know the rest.

The new thing this year is if you pass the TAKS for a subject, you get exempt from that subjects exam. If you pass all of the TAKS tests you are exempt from all exams. Exams are optional though. They're good for grade boosting.

TAKS is mandatory here too. The exemtion thing is just to encourage us to pass it. :rolleyes: It's nice though.
