The movie is slightly different in that respect, since it makes Pink look like less of an aggressor.

Mr. Night V2.0 04-20-2006 08:17 AM

I just love the way Roger masks Pinks changing into a more contemporary Hitler. And how you don't expect it, but when you realize that Pink is something he never wanted to be, it's like he's already this powerful monster, and there aint nothing you can do about it.

Meddle's awesome, I can't get enough of it. I love the song Fearless, and how you can hear the Kop singing "You'll Never Walk Alone". Kind of sums the song up in about 10 seconds. That Riff is incredible, too.

standard 04-20-2006 02:21 PM

So I listened to Echoes last night and realized how cool the lyrics are.

How much Floyd will be being played today.. Haha.

Hamilcar 04-20-2006 02:27 PM

I just played the first side of Meddle to the people in my dorm today and they were all mesmerized. It's amazing what a 40 year old 12" vinyl can do lol.

Riva 04-20-2006 05:11 PM

Yeah, it's great. Pity you didn't show them Echoes as well.

The worst thing about vinyls and tapes is the eventual wear and tear.

Cds, have that also though, and if you keep your vinyl well..they last longer than some cds.

Riva 04-20-2006 05:30 PM

Yeah, but CDs are backed up to my computer and on CD-Rs.

Mr. Night V2.0 04-21-2006 08:25 AM

My Grandma has loads of Beatles Vinyls. I found them today.

(assuming you have vinyls) just run a 2-way audio cable into your comp's mic. port, play the vinyl and use a recording programme like Audacity. then you can chop the end file up into individual songs

i got Meddle yesterday, but haven't listened to it yet.
out of the albums i have (The Wall, DSOTM and WYWH), Wish You Were Here has to be my favourite, it's one of my favourite albums ever.

Wish You Were Here is my favourite Floyd Album, and probably one of my favourites, too. It's facing stiff competition from Meddle though. I can't stop listening to that.

Wp - Pink Foyd - Vera.
Np - Pink Floyd - One Of These Days.

MidnightRider 04-21-2006 01:44 PM

WYWH has been my favorite for like 2 years now.

Give Meddle time, it's brilliance didn't hit me right at first.

Josh 04-21-2006 02:37 PM

/puts on Meddle for first time...
EDIT: i just put it on and my g/f rang.
One of these days was good, A Pillow of Winds is great :)

EDIT2: that album is just great, Echoes is possibly one of the best songs i have ever heard :)

Pssh, forget that. Buy yourself a rack-mount CDRW recorder

Would you guys rather go to a Pink Floyd reunion with all orginal members, including a tearful Syd Barrett reunion, or have sex with two women at the same time?

Sex with 2 women, then the concert then back to the 2 women, then backstage for a jam, autograph...chat session.

robo2448 04-21-2006 05:06 PM

Definitely concert.

No contest. And no, I'm not gay.

classicrockman 04-21-2006 08:19 PM

Same here. Concert for sure.

Glitterati 04-21-2006 08:56 PM

The concert. I dunno, but two women at once might not be all it's cracked up to be.
Give Meddle time, it's brilliance didn't hit me right at first.
Meddle is awesome once you get into it, especially San Tropez.

Kingofdudes 04-22-2006 12:29 AM

I cant be fucked to look back a few pages, but have you guys heard that Gilmour has been playing Arnold Layne live with Rick on vocals? I wish I could go to one of the shows soooo bad.

Roger is going to do a small US tour soon. Gonna play aa of Dark Side of the Moon.

Ephemeral 04-22-2006 12:37 AM

The concert. There are other times for 2 women at once, but only one time for a concert like that.

:' (

Mitch2oo6 04-22-2006 02:06 AM

Concert. Post above is brilliant point.

First post in the Floyd thread...w00t!

Go Floyd.

I only have 2 cd's(Dark Side Of The Moon, A Momentry Lapse Of Reason) but I really love Floyd and would love to get some more. The cd shops in this small town are pretty under stocked in the ways of good music(mostly have rap/hip hop) so I have no way to get my hands on some. UNLESS...someone wants to YSI/Megaupload me some...

Pretty please?
Sorry to sound like a begger btw.

I was wondering how people do that. Will do!

And I'd definitely go to the concert. I've got one woman already who's all I need.

BigTrav415 04-22-2006 09:26 PM

Quite possibly my favorite thing to do on guitar is to play the incredibly beautiful bluesy guitar intro of SOYCD pts. I-V with a bit of improvisation. Just messing around up in the 15th-20th frets is fun. Then I transition into the Syd theme and the heavy slide part. That and the WYWH intro are all I feel comfortable playing in front of people.

standard 04-22-2006 10:09 PM

So I smoked for the first time last night at a party after some Vodka, and it hit me pretty hard, suppodly was amazing good weed.

I thought I would take the oportunity to listen to some Floyd.. Good ****.

It's good not stoned or drunk, but man it's real good stoned, now I see why stoners can't stop listening to it.

MidnightRider 04-22-2006 10:19 PM

Hmm..I'd probably take the concert over 2 women.

Listening to Floyd stoned isn't all it's cracked up to be, it doesn't really even change the experience for me.

I picked up More and The Wall DVD earlier.

standard 04-22-2006 10:21 PM
Listening to Floyd stoned isn't all it's cracked up to be, it doesn't really even change the experience for me.
now for me it was different/; right now i just had a few drinsk so mind my spelling hahah.

well for me i came home put on animals wnent to bed.. the whole dark room deal and floyd just.. damn. weed won't be a habit but it's very relaxing for me . iwas like "damn this is great'

then i felt like i was flying hahaha.

Riva 04-22-2006 10:37 PM

I actually prefer it completely normal, but each to his own.

I dunno it's good. right now i'm rather tipsy and it sounds good hjaha.

Mitch2oo6 04-23-2006 01:36 AM

It sounds no different while your drunk, but I've never been stoned so I wouldnt know what it's like then...But isnt that what trance musics for? getting high on weed then blissin'?

Anyway.
Can someone like upload me with YSI a floyd cd or two? pleaaaase?

Riva 04-23-2006 04:43 AM

Just buy the albums, they're fairly prevalent.

That's an excellent DVD. I love the wall.
