^Done.
There's another clip of some other song going around on the ETS boards. That clip is not clear at all though. It's kinda strange the way they found it actually. Some of the new tour shirts that are being sold have some highlighted numbers you have to put together which will actually give you a CA phone number. People have been calling it and getting some weird statical stuff followed by a new clip. This is all getting kinda funny/weird. Ah, I think it's time for me to stray from those boards for a while. :p

Magicaltroll 02-15-2007 04:02 PM

This song is awesome.

Montana 02-15-2007 04:52 PM
I decided I won't listen to any leaks, just wait for the album. What's the official release date again?
I'm going to wait, too. Build excitement and what not. Good to see some positive reactions in this thread.

This should clear up a lot of the speculation you all are wondering about regarding the creepy stuff popping up regarding NIN. It's very informative and doesn't really spoil anything.

penelope weird hands 02-16-2007 01:11 AM

^That is extremely interesting.
I have an even better feeling about this album after reading all that.

Spiritofmosa 02-16-2007 04:49 AM

if im not too late.. please send the leak to me at amos_amplified@hotmail.com

penelope weird hands 02-16-2007 05:18 AM

God DAMN it.
New Australian dates have been added and there's no Perth. :(

However, if you are near the areas of Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney, consider yourselves lucky sons of bitches.

EDIT: ^Sent.

deadinholywood 02-16-2007 10:33 AM

I am a lucky SOB :p
Seriously the stuff that is going on with the new album has blown my mind, it must have taken ages to put it together

bwnstl 02-16-2007 04:34 PM

Or less than two years....which is amazing. This is complex, intricate ****. Reznor, fortunately, sometimes shows what a genius he is.

misunderstood 02-16-2007 04:50 PM

Reznor blogging over at the Spiral boards:
"What you are now starting to experience IS 'year zero'. It's not some kind of gimmick to get you to buy a record - it IS the art form... and we're just getting started. Hope you enjoy the ride."
Seems like this is just the beginning. Alot more complicated/interesting stuff coming our way. Oh, by the way, another song is out, Survivalism, the new single that was suppose to be out on the 27th of this month. Looks like a bunch of radio stations are playing not. I haven't listened to it yet..haven't even bothered looking for a link. I'm not sure I will. I know I listened to the first song that was out but I don't want to end up ruining the entire NIN experience.:p

Hmm..then again, it is gonna be the single and I probably won't be able to avoid it while listening to the radio. So it wouldn't matter if I listened to now or later...unless I don't turn the radio on for the next two months then maybe i can pull it off. Ah, whatever, not listening to it for now..later, perhaps.

Kage 02-16-2007 06:38 PM

I generally listen to singles if they're released.

Kage 02-16-2007 06:41 PM

Reznor is really going all out on this one.

Kage 02-16-2007 06:57 PM

Here's the link for a Cd quality mp3 of Survivalism.

It's ...

misunderstood 02-16-2007 07:09 PM

^Did you listen to it already? :D or :upset: ??

Kage 02-16-2007 07:11 PM

I listened; seeing as how it's supposed to be released to radios in a week, I figured there was no harm in it.

It was cool but I'm slightly disappointed that it doesn't stray as much as I wanted it to.

misunderstood 02-16-2007 07:21 PM

Hmm...I have read mixed reviews about this song. Alot of people seem to be liking My Violent Heart better. Well, I'm gonna give it a listen after all. Thanks for the link.

Sweet. Thank you. Since this is coming out soon, I have to hear it.

Kage 02-16-2007 09:29 PM

No problem

I went ahead and listened to My Violent Heart since it's on the official Myspace. That song was fucking awesome.

What do you mean by "stray"?

If you mean what I think you mean, then I agree. I like the song quite a bit, as I still feel Trent is much better at writing electronic music rather than the straightforward rock on With Teeth. However, as with The Fragile and The Downward Spiral, I'm used to his electronic music incorporating some very unusual and unpredictable structures. On the two albums I just mentioned Trent would start with a catchy base and then add layer upon layer, taking some very unexpected turns and creating something incredibly intricate, in its own chaotic way.

Still, I'm impressed with the new stuff. It brings me back to the TF and TDS era. My Violent Heart really sounds like it could've been on TDS.

Yeah, everytime I listen to My Violent Heart I'm reminded of Mr.Self-Destruct for some reason. I wonder if all sixteen tracks will be anything like these two that have been released so far.

Montana 02-16-2007 10:24 PM

I just listenend to the two tracks on myspace. Definitely enjoyed My Violent Heart more. The last 30-45 seconds were nice; I could listen to that on a loop for a while.

Polyamarous 02-17-2007 06:18 AM

Survivalism is immense. Never really heard anything like that from them before.

15 days!

pixiesfanyo 02-17-2007 08:59 AM

Survivalism is weird.

Almost indieish.

Also kinda sounds like the guy from Bauhaus is on it. But I'm not positive.

deadinholywood 02-18-2007 07:56 AM

I don't really know what i think of the songs yet... they left me feeling a bit meh I hope they grow on me :(

Polyamarous 02-18-2007 11:19 AM

IW ould say that they are growers.

repcak 02-18-2007 11:44 AM

his new song remind me too much on WT :( tbh. i expected something different... i think that NIN is not THAT important for me than it was some yrs ago... its sad, though i still like Trent as a person and all his work till With_Teeth.

bwnstl 02-18-2007 11:44 AM

I love My Violent Heart, and Survivalism took a few listens, but I really like it as well.

misunderstood 02-18-2007 05:10 PM

^Yeah, same here. I liked My Violent Heart alot after just hearing it one time...thought it was great. But Survivalism did leave me feeling a little confused the first time, heh. It took a few more listens to get into it...but I like it too, though not as much. I think it'll be a good album (hopefully).

repcak 02-19-2007 01:55 AM

i just don't like the new "sound" of the syntezisers... it was the same as with WT. at least "My Violent Heart" is good... i think i can learn to like it.

Spiritofmosa 02-19-2007 05:52 AM

Survivalism sounds like a korn song.. a lil.
