There is a very high pitched sound at the end of the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which supposedly only dogs can hear...

but I can hear it easily!!! I've heard that it's only about 15000 cycles per second... is this true?

Walrus Gumboot 03-04-2005 07:06 PM

Yeah, if it were a dog whistle, would it be possible to record anyway? o.O
What does 15000 cycles mean?

clown_phobia 03-04-2005 07:51 PM

15000 cycles mean the sound wave vibrates 15 000 times per second. The faster it vibrates, the higher the sound.

ultraspamboy 03-04-2005 09:41 PM

I've heard it too. I think the human ear can reach up to 20,000hz, but I'm not sure. I've gone up to 19000hz on my comp or around there. I've wanted to play the end of Sgt. Pepper's for my sister's guinea pig for a while now.

DeusExMachina 03-05-2005 10:44 PM

I doubt its true. There would have been a controversy of like, a dog going insane and killing an autistic baby because of Sgt. Peppers.

Seafroggys 03-05-2005 11:30 PM

We had this oscillating unit in Physics, and I think I could hear all the way up to 17 khz.

Woodstock 03-05-2005 11:31 PM

It differs for everyone.

Hey everyone my name is Mike. I made a new forum for classic rock from the 60's 70's and 80's only. There are not that many members, but after a little bit, I am sure it will get going good. Please join and start some threads. Thank you!

The sound is definately there cos John says he put it in in the anthology book and the other beatles confirm it. John put it in to piss dogs off.

Krabsworth 03-06-2005 07:36 PM

What's everyone's favourite Beatles guitar solo?

Bon_Scottie 03-08-2005 06:13 AM

I've only just listened to my Dads 'Beatles - Greatest hits' album, and realised how good all of the tunes are.

They are an awesome band... So I'll be sure expand my Beatles... music knowledge.

ive always liked let it be. not crazy or technical but very nice sounding and fits well with the song.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-08-2005 03:47 PM

Taxman has a cool solo.

Woodstock 03-08-2005 06:39 PM
Taxman has a cool solo.......
........Played by Paul.

Seafroggys 03-08-2005 06:55 PM

Yeah, Let it Be has a freakishly awesome solo. Same with The End (with all three of them playing). There are some solos that could have been really awesome if they were longer (Helter Skelter, Strawberry Fields, etc.)

Yea but because of the holes were there could have been a longer solo Helter Skelter is fun to jam to and add a longer solo. When I play it I go for about 6 min.

Thor 03-08-2005 08:02 PM

Best Beatles song = Love is all you need

Yeah, that one that is less than 3 seconds long in Strawberry Feilds Forever needed to be at least 5 seconds longer

My favorite, if not let It Be would have to be While My Guitar Gently Weeps, which I believe was Clapton... oh well

TheSeeker625 03-08-2005 08:51 PM

I believe Harrison wrote it, but Clapton performed it on the album. I'm not sure though.

clown_phobia 03-09-2005 05:06 AM

It was George Harrison that wrote it, and played it.
George Harrison was driving to the recording studio with Eric Clapton in the car. George suggested that Eric play on the song (the guitar solo), but Eric said that the other beatles might not want it. At this point they were recording the white album, and every beatle was pretty much recording his own songs with the rest as backing band. George said that it was his song and he wanted Eric to play on it.

And he did. Eric Clapton played the solo, and george and the beatles played the rest.

DeusExMachina 03-09-2005 05:14 PM

You mean, Clapton played the solo.

El_Goodo 03-09-2005 05:24 PM

My favourite beatles solo is on I Want You (She's So Heavy) I LOVE THAT SONG!

Walrus Gumboot 03-09-2005 05:39 PM

How could I forget "Something"?

*hits head on dashboard*

*wonders why I"m on forum while driving*

Instant Beatle noob right here. Its "All You Need is Love," and I'm surprised you don't know it, since its probably the most famous Beatle song.
