Anyone here ever listen to Pacheko or Cardopusher? It's some pretty dope Brazilian dubstep, and they incorporate more melodies into it than most of the sh[COLOR="Black"]i[/COLOR]t thats going around right now. Its a lot more captivating than the average dubstep song, which usually has womping dissonant bass compared to what else is going on as far as melody is concerned.

I've heard of Cardopusher and he's more breakbeat.

Still very good stuff.

Yeah that was some ill sh[COLOR="Black"]i[/COLOR]t (Shekel). Really cool sounds in there for the wobble bass, doing something a bit different than everyone else.

Can anybody recommend me any liquid dubstep? Like songs or DJs that use a lot of wet/chorusy sounds?

dumb question, but how would i go about making dubstep? do i need protools or do have have to have tables and mash vinyls together or what?> i have no idea how id go about that lol

thank you both! its not a dumb question, there are a couple ways to go about it. it comes down largely to the difference between mixing and producing. most dubstep DJs mix tracks live either on vinyl (expensive) or digitally (mp3dj, traktor). you can also prearrange them in software and tweak as you like. you could also use software to produce it all from scratch using whatever samples you get online and whatever the program has to offer. each program definitely lends itself to a different style and sound. i use acid pro 7 (allows you to import, arrange, and modulate samples) and reason 4 (synthesizer). for this particular track, almost everything was made in reason and the vocal samples were added in acid

so you like "scratch" the sample then add the wobble effect to it?

The "wobble" is a bass synth with a modulation (variable direct control) on a parameter called a LFO (low frequency oscillator). it's not really an 'effect', its a parameter control on a synth.

like anything, it takes a lot of practice to get the sound you really want.
