sick burn, Amit, sick burn
De ventede Tøsens Hiemkomst
Hun vaer i mørck Skog faren vild
Sneens Tepper hafde bredet sig hen
Paa Stien hiem - hendes eeneste Ven

Om hun bare kunde
Følge Stiernernes Baner
Ey hun skulde vildfare
Blandt disse mørcke Graner

Skogens mørcke Arme forbarmede sig ofver dend fremmede Giæst
Giorde hende vaer i siine inderste Tankers Veemod
At i Bergekongens Kammer tørstes efter Christenblod

[De Underjordiske:]
«Det nærmer sig stille: Een sørgeklæst Pige
Sidder derinde med foldede Hænder
Hun sender een Bøn til det himmeldske Rige»

Ofver hendes Hode
Det drybber fra Qviist
Draabe for Draabe som Blodet
Fra Kroppen til Jesu Christ

[Pigen:]
«Aa, eismal i ein uggin Skog
Eg kjenn at i Kveld
I Kveld tenkjer ingen paa meg»

We see them coming a mile away
Gathered to kill on the desolate plain
No fear in our minds
Pure hate in our hearts

Miscalculation of our strength their bane
Take us lightly and we'll make you pay
Pride left them defenseless
No mercy for Hubris

[Solo: Pat O'Brien]

They rush to fight us and we stand and wait
Pulses quicken as they take the bait
Mere seconds to slaughter
We can wait no longer

Closing fast with their weapons high
Still believing it's we that will die
Now the ambush is sprung
Now they learn they were wrong
Now the killing will start
Tear the bastards apart

They thought it would be easy but now they're being crushed
Arrogance of power leaves them dying in their blood
There will be no mercy for these filthy sons of whores
The innards of my enemies impaled upon my sword
Many years we've waited for this final day of slaughter
Our victims are decapitated, their limbs are torn asunder
Careful preparation brought our haughty victims down
Our forces are at full strength and the time to kill is now.

Time to kill is now

Time to kill

They are all dead, it's their end today
All lost their lives in tremendous pain
Not one has survived
We left none alive

Do not doubt our conviction to kill
Hate on our side we will never fail
Now the killing will start
Tear the bastards apart
Strike the enemy down
The time to kill is mother****ing now

Amit 07-15-2008 02:42 PM

it could have been cakewalk rapture, NI FM8 or Massive, or u-he zebra 2

those are my favorite vst synths

moltenlava 07-15-2008 04:42 PM

Man, did this thread fly off topic.....But, that's the whole dang fun of it, innit?...I see that my boy Amit stopped pushing his side of the arguement. Which leads me to assume that he finally saw things from my side of the table. That 'influence' has a definition with a whole range of 'degree', or 'intensity'. Music can be lightly influenced, or heavily influenced by other music. And, that some Metal is definitely influencd, to one degree or another, by Classical music....Damn, didn't ya'll see that documentary on Metal made by that sociologist Metalhead?

Charizard 07-15-2008 04:43 PM

um

listen to punish my heaven by dark tranquillity

haha no i stopped because no one continued posting on topic

but since you started again

metal is not influenced by classical music

sorry

why is there such a desperate push for trying to legitimize metal by bootstrapping it to the most prestigious and sophisticated of western music?

Charizard 07-15-2008 04:47 PM

um amit

you missed this in your other noob thread

what song is more tech than in bloom by nirvana?

Justin Timberlake is not influenced by good music

sorry

Charizard 07-15-2008 04:55 PM

yeah uh tech means theres a lot of junts but there also have to be a lot of sweeps, and guttural demon growls, not whining

Charizard 07-15-2008 04:55 PM

also, the most technical drumming: blast beats

xNerox 07-15-2008 04:56 PM

Yeah, so I actually took the time to read through the entire last thread, and now I'm too mentally anguished to read through all of this one, so I'll just ask my question.

What I really don't understand are your personal definitions of "influence" and "technique." For you, what does it take to be influenced by a certain piece of music? Does it have to have some sort of approval stamp? Personally, I consider every single piece of music I have ever listened to and enjoyed to bear some influence on my writing / playing. And that includes classical-to-metal influence.

As far as technique... perhaps I'm interpreting this incorrectly, but it almost seems like playing in an orchestral / symphonic setting is a prerequisite to being "technical", from your perspective. In a nutshell, in a previous post you stated that technique was essentially control, dynamics, and blending into an ensemble sound. I don't know what you cite as bad examples of "technical metal players", but I know I've listened to a few who I think fit that description rather well.

in before "block of text", "tl;dr"

Amit 07-15-2008 04:56 PM
Justin Timberlake is not influenced by good music

sorry
lol ok i really believe you

1338 h4x0r 07-15-2008 04:58 PM

Why do you keep trying to legitimize Justin Timberlake by associating him with good music?

Amit 07-15-2008 04:59 PM
Why do you keep trying to legitimize Justin Timberlake by associating him with good music?
why do you care

i mean i know i am really interesting but you don't have to stalk me

it's okay if you don't like pop music but why is it a problem if i like pop music

and what does any of this have to do with justin timberlake being legitimized with good music

i know you're trying to do some half assed analogy with what i've posted before; but i'm not the one who blathers on justin timberlake's extensive neoclassical influences and technical superiority over all modern music

i guess the key difference between you and me is that i don't care if the music i like isn't important or unimportant; i guess i'm just cursed to enjoy music regardless of what other people think of it

1338 h4x0r 07-15-2008 05:02 PM

haha I pissed you off

Amit 07-15-2008 05:04 PM
haha I pissed you off
i don't get pissed off on the internet or real life but if it makes you feel better you can think whatever you like

:]

1338 h4x0r 07-15-2008 05:05 PM

well you wrote more characters in your response than I wrote trolling you, so I take that as a reasonable quantification of being pissed off

Amit 07-15-2008 05:06 PM
well you wrote more characters in your response than I wrote trolling you, so I take that as a reasonable quantification of being pissed off
you ought to work on your social skills if you think that's a reasonable quantification :]

moltenlava 07-15-2008 05:07 PM

Amit, you know that I proved my case with the examples given. The Classical influence in certain branches of Metal is pervasive and ubiquitous....And, what the heck are you doing listening ot Justin Timberlake? That move kinda blows your Rock/Metal credibility to smithereens.
