If you have the time, and an experience with the equipment, you may as well review it.

It's far from complete but you can piece together something. Old Kramers are a bitch to find info on.

I also found a review for one on harmony-central

What Fender Bass do you like?

I'm a real big fan of the P-bass. Yet, The Jazz bass has the sound. This leads me to mention the current lineup of "Fender" products. I notice, since the time I started to play bass, there's been advancements to bass design, since the world famous, Fender designs. I played my share of cheap basses, and of japanese"copies". My reason for writing this is, I got "tricked",somewhat. I bought a Squier P-bass. After buying it, it seemed nobody wanted to set it up. nor honor the name. I was told, why would I buy that cheap copy of a Fender? So, the dealer, i brought this from , won't have my business any more, and the Squier, does have a 'bad" neck bow to it. It's a shame how a person buys a trusted name, to only be treated like , "we got your money, we got you". Which leads me to a another point. The P-bass, and the Jazz bass, has such a reputation, why start these different "series" being made in the US, or Mexico, or Asia? I read reviews, and most have complaints about the Mexican instruments, not being as good as their American counterparts. Yet, from the pictures i seen in Fender's catalog, The Hightway 1 Jazz, has the same tuners as the Squier, and the fender "standard" Jazz bass (which is also made in Mexico). Of course, there is American Jazz Bass(which I cannot effort), I thought about the Highway 1 Jazz Bass, and when i read the "specs", it has the same 'guts", as the Fender standard. Yes, The wood is different, and so is the finish, and the highway 1 is cheaper than the American Jazz. Of course, there is the deluxe series(which I don't like active eletronics), and my hands, only can handle a Jazz-type width. My point is, If a player wants a P-bass,or a Jazz bass, get the Mexican classics. They are really good, and if their set-up right, you got something. I made a big mistake, getting rid of my 60's Jazz bass from mexico.

a review on the fender p bass special ACTIVE series would be grear
What is a good bass combo to get? I would like 100 watts or more. I was thinking about a Fender Rumble 100. Has anyone ever played through a Carvin? What about ampeg ba115, Hartke, SWR, Berhinger... What would you recemend?
Wrong place to post this question

fenderman1956 09-26-2005 04:58 PM

this is Fenderman, i got something to say about todays' Fenders. Done tried, two Squires, one fender standard jazz bass, and one 60's classic jazz bass. All had neck problems and "nut" problems. These instruments, came right from the factory this way.I wish, I never got rid of my CBS p-bass, 1974. Tried G&L, doesn't have the musicman "tone". You guys know what I mean! Lord-willing , the next Bass that i will get will be, An Ernie Ball Musicman Stringray. As I once heard, when Leo made the Stringray, he "made" the Fender Precision Bass of the future. I heard that over 20 yrs. ago, and when I tried a new one, the workmanship was still there, like it was from the "get-go". And It has a "soul". I wish they brought back the sabre, it too had a "soul". Fenderman1956,sorry Fender Musical Instruments

if you are new to bass playing, any beginner pack is good. They usually come with a bass, amp, cord, and some type of beginner book. Get some skills then if you haven't quit and develop a love for bass do some research on the type of equipment and setup you want

Rogue isn't known for quality... They are beginner basses that will produce a bass like sound. However this sound will not sound good.

I wanna hear about the Mark Hoppus bass. I'm thinking of getting one. I know there's already a review on it, but it's not all that good. Just a paragraph or two about it, not all that much info.
