Yo J, you might like this band, CAMPS. They're doing a split with The Kramers soon, if that means anything.
They're pretty good. They got a fastcore/pv sound going on. I liked that song, Hoagie.
Reconmend Me A Mega Death Album!
Megadeth is ok, not my fav thrash band, but alot of people like 'em. I say ye go with Rust in Piece or Peace Sells....But Who's Buying?.

Feel The Darkness 02-19-2006 12:33 PM

My band had it's first practice yesterday. It ruled so hard. It's 2 singer, 2 guitarists and drums. I've got 2 friends from a hc punk band on guitar and drums, and 2 friends from a grindcore band on guitar and vocals. i'm lead vocals.

We're going for a crossover thrash sound, but with more old school hc breakdowns.

I'm pretty sure we've decided on a name, that being Los Escandelosos.

for you gringos, that basically means, "the scandals" or "the scandal makers"

haha, we're all mexican, minus our guitarist, he's french.

hopefully we'll have a cheap demo online within a month er so.

Times Ten 02-19-2006 12:43 PM

There are some awesome bands on that original list.

I havn't really listened to thrash much except for thrash metal. What's the difference between the two?

Feel The Darkness 02-20-2006 06:01 PM
I havn't really listened to thrash much except for thrash metal. What's the difference between the two?
simple breakdown of them:
heavy metal+hardcore=thrash metal
hardcore+heavy metal=crossover

haha, they're basically the same genre, except some bands were alot more on the punk side, while other stuck with metal, being that they all started coming out around the same time.

Brain Toad 02-20-2006 06:18 PM

I just put on Municipal Waste because I didn't like them the first time I listened awhile back.

I was wrong back then.

Check out Holier Than Thou?. Not as good as the Waste, but still a band worth checking out.
i dont wanna be a dick but spazz definately shouldnt be up there
I have several PV bands on there. PV is usually pretty damn thrashy, although technically not thrash, PV does appeal to thrash fans.

Times Ten 02-20-2006 07:40 PM

Municipal Waste is amazing. One of the most fun shows I have seen.

Damn, why was I not aware of the existence of this thread? I'm crazy in love with thrash; I love most every band on that list. Municipal Waste is insane live.

Oh, and I have so much more you could add to this list. For starters:

Second Opinion
Bloody Pheonix
Hostile Takeover
Haymaker
Look Back and Laugh
Deadfall
Find Him And Kill Him
Hit Me Back
Broken Needle
Brutal Death
Asshole Assassination Squad
Burn Your Bridges
Case Of Emergency

And shouldn't Charles Bronson be on here somewhere?

Brain Toad 02-20-2006 09:36 PM

I haven't found anyone who doesn't love J.

Subvert_bassist 02-20-2006 09:47 PM

Just as a bump, read the edit in my last post.

I know links for some, but either way, can you give links for those that you can, to make the list better? I'll add em in the meantime, just get those links together.

Also, I'm gonna start including more PV bands, and label em with a **, so give me PV bands, too. links to go with em.

Siege is already on there, and Assuck is grindcore, not PV. Also, if you can find the time, eventually, to get some of the links, that'd rule.

Municipal Waste is really good. I think Crucial Unit is better though, they are one of my favorite thrash bands.
