The full show? |
Yep. an hour and 12 minutes
|
Awesome!
Ah, i actually think he was referring to that little Bamfer Productions video. It has those three Bamfer Production kids in it running around their house with toy guns. It's pretty good. The camera angles are actually extremely nice. But they needed to use the demo version of "Everything Went Numb" because it's a little shorter. http://bamferproductions.com
That is one cool video... |
I'm seeing them on Thursday. The first time I saw them, I had never listened to them. I only went because my friends were opening. I will never miss a Streetlight show anyway near me. I love them.
|
I saw them on Tuesday and watched them on the iMusicast webcast last night too. I met Tomas Tuesday night, what a cool guy. He really hates Catch 22 with a passion now. Also, the trombone player was a really cool guy too. I was up against the stage and we were singing at each other and stuff. He gave me the mic on the last song, too.
|
haha i just watched the music video for everything went numb. it's crazy
i never saw that!!! It's not on their site! Where'd you get it? EDIT: I need to learn to read through all the posts.... |
wow this is
|
hahahah That's funny! I like the random guy skanking...crazy skanking....I've never seen anyone flail their arms that much while skanking...
Streetlights got some issues if u had been to their shows they are good and can play but they give other ska bands a lot of **** and need to get over themselves. They got a **** attitude and need stop givin detroit a bad rap.
I noticed that too! ive been to a few of their shows and theyAMAZING!!! but the former catch 22 members (jamie) aren't so nice:/ the dudes from one cool guy are awesome though:) |
Yeah, he means that amazon lists Keasby Nights 2 as coming out then, but that isn't true.
http://www.victoryrecords.com/UpcomingReleases.asp list the release of Keasby Nights as 5/31 and there signed to Victory soo i think there coming out with it! |
not to shabby
|
Didn't they say it wasn't going to be called Keasby Nights a while ago?
|
Didn't they say it wasn't going to be called Keasby Nights a while ago?
Yes, they did say there was no new material too. |
I wouldn't mind them redoing Keasby Nights as it is my all time favorite ska album, but I'd rather hear new stuff.
|
Streetlight re-doing Keasbey Nights is not a good idea.
they're not catch 22, and they never will be. making your songs repeat themselves over and over again for 7 minutes doesnt make you an awesome band. it makes you annoying as hell. |
To be fair they're more Catch 22 than Catch 22 are.
|
 Well, then new Catch is...but that's a good thing heh.
|
*eherm* try listening to The Specials or Operation Ivy
They basically are Catch 22 minus Ryan Eldred and have a few more guys from one Cool Guy. And as for re-recording Keasby Nights: i think it is a GREAT idea. Maybe Catch 22 will finally break up once they stop making money off of Keasby Nights. I think Streetlight should have bought the royalties for the original keasby nights in the first place. But a more evolved version will be much better. Hopefully they will have the BOTAR version of "Dear Sergio". |

Because they are better than Catch 22. But that's just my opinion. |
I definately second that ^. Catch 22 lost everything when Tomas and company left the band. Their release after Keasby nights, Alone in the Crowd, was very good but nothing like Keasby Nights. It sounded alot plainer and Keasby Nights had something only Tomas and the other could provide. Then dinosaur sounds came out showing Catch 22 was only going downhill.

obviously i was misunderstood.
i meant the ORIGINAL Catch 22. not the new, Dinosaur Sounds catch 22. i personally think they were much better back in 1998, not rehashed as Streetlight. |
Their the best band. Better than the Clash.
What? No! |
I've only heard a couple of songs but so far, they're ****en rad. I love fast ska, although SM are more just like punk with trumpets, sax etc.
|
no, Dead Pets are punk with trumpets (and put on an awesome show), SM are ska-punk

Catch 22/Streetlight Manifesto
Okay, I'm sure this is done enough, but I went 14 pages back and didn't find the answer so I know it hasn't been done recently.
What is the deal with these 2 bands? I know Tomas was in Catch 22 and got kicked out/quit and took like 2 other members with him, but Catch 22 kept playing the songs he wrote or something (I get that from the song by SM "If you hate me so much, then why do you keep singing my songs"). Can anyone tell me exactly what happened? And for discussions sake, which one do you people like more? |
streegtlight manifesto is is better
|
Streetlight4eva.
|
Tom left the band do to disagreements and C22 kept playing the songs which he wrote. He obviously feels they're his songs and C22 should not be playing them.
|
Well, like why doesn't he record them on a SM CD? If he wrote them, wouldn't they be copy righted to his name? What CDs did C22 put out while he was in the band?
|
The songs are copyrighted to C22 as a group. There have been rumors of SLM recording them themselves. Tom was in C22 for Keasbey Nights.
|

go to something like "upcoming releases"... you'll find "Keasby Nights II" |
i like botar better than SM...
|
Stretlight is the best, followed by BOTAR, and followed by Catch 22. I don't really like any post Keasby Catch though.
|
Streetlight is the best, then Catch 22 with Tomas. BOTAR is pretty good. I thought KN II came out in january or something. And Streetlight plays C22 songs live.
|
The way I understood it, Tomas wanted to tour less and about half agreed and half didn't. So the ones who didn't want to tour left to create a new band and spent more time in the studio, though SM tours now oddly enough. I might be wrong though :-/
|
slm = way better than c22

Yea.. you're pretty much correct. And about the "streetlight is now touring" thing: have you ever decided you didn't like something, then later in life you realize that you actually don't mind it? |
