hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 07:03 PM

i think that emo has grown from just "emotional hardcore" to where bands like Taking Back Sunday and Thursday can be considered emo....at the very least indie-emo

dislocated214 03-17-2005 07:09 PM

Is Coheed on Atlantic or Columbia yet?

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 07:13 PM

they signed to Columbia but still have ties with Equal Vision

dislocated214 03-17-2005 07:29 PM

Wait what do you mean?

Aww...no more indie label :upset:

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 07:32 PM

i don't really know what i mean. i know they definitly signed with Columbia but i still see them getting marketed by Equal Vision, so i assume that somehow they are on both labels?
i think that emo has grown from just "emotional hardcore" to where bands like Taking Back Sunday and Thursday can be considered emo....at the very least indie-emo
I think bands like Thursday and TBS are...i hate to say this...but theyre "posers" (thats such a ****ing stupid term). Theyre just pop-punk bands disguised as emo. I guess they have some emo influence and a bit of the entire emo "feel", but to me theyre just pop-punk.

And aren't Coheed and Cambria friends with Thursday?

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 07:47 PM

i thought about it and the only thing that makes bands like Indian Summer and Circle Takes the Square emo bands instead of hardcore bands is really just the lyrics. Hardcore with emotional lyrics = emo. so if the lyrics make the band emo than wouldn't a pop punk band with emotional lyrics be just as emo? (i.e. Thursday)

cobert 03-17-2005 07:50 PM

Good point.

But i still dont know if CO+CAM are friends with Thursday.

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 07:58 PM

a lot of bands are friends with each other...i couldn't really tell you, but if you find out for sure tell me. cause my friend WORSHIPS Thursday but makes fun of me for liking Coheed and i'd love to rub that in his face

cobert 03-17-2005 08:48 PM

Yeah, apparently the line "we'll have Paris in flames" from hearshot kid disaster is a refernce to....well, "Paris in flames" from Thursday.

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 08:56 PM

wow, i always thought about that, but i thought it was just coincidence

cobert 03-17-2005 08:59 PM

I think its not just a coincidence....of all places, they pick Paris, then they light it up.

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 09:04 PM

hahaha, you're right...can you find any information about this?

cobert 03-17-2005 09:10 PM

Not really...I googled it (google is the answer to everything) and i couldnt find where i read it at originally. Also, i've heard Claudio's an atheist. Come to think, ive never heard him talk about any form of religion...

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 09:12 PM

hmm, that wouldn't surprise me, but i dunno. i actually read through the thank yous in the cds cause iw as wondering if they were or not. and only once in the IKSSE:3 booklet did like, josh or travis thank god but the other ones didn't at all

cobert 03-17-2005 09:14 PM
josh or travis thank god but the other ones didn't at all
Well I guess that answers that question. "god" is always first or last on everyones thank you's.

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 09:16 PM

yeah, who knows, i kinda want to go look at it agian but i'm not gonna right now

cobert 03-17-2005 09:18 PM
yeah, who knows, i kinda want to go look at it agian but i'm not gonna right now
Lazy bastard.....

I would look through it if I had the booklet, but just like my SSTB: It was lost by my sister :upset:

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 09:22 PM

if a sibling ever ****ed around with one of my cds i'd shoot them

cobert 03-17-2005 09:26 PM

shes older though, and the CD was hers until she lost it once in her boyfriends van. It popped up 6 months later only to be lost again....somewhere. I could do what I did with Frances the mute and get my own copy, though, so i dont have to worry about keeping it in perfect condition or sneakin' a listen when shes not home.

And thats a bit harsh.

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 09:31 PM

you should get your own copy...or at least burn it off of her

cobert 03-17-2005 09:34 PM

My friend (peenkphloide) is burning ANOTHER friends new copy tonight. Lucky me.

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 09:36 PM

don't be a bitch....make him burn you one

cobert 03-17-2005 09:41 PM
don't be a bitch....make him burn you one
He's technologically retarded. Thats a step lower than illiterate.

He doesnt understand "copy to CD". Well, the person burning it for me does, so hes doing that and i should have it in a day or two.

hey, you're not cory! 03-17-2005 09:49 PM

well, its works out then

cobert 03-17-2005 09:52 PM

All is well in the land of make believe....

Are you a walking advertisement for cobaltandcalcium? Dont worry, we know about the site, i mention it enough. And this is a forum, not a search engine with members: So every time somebody asks a question, dont post a website that gives the answer, just tell them the **** answer....

....Geez.
