No.

gaslight 03-06-2005 06:33 AM

No, I had to reset my computer to make it sign in though. My computer has a few gay moments here and there.

Aes820 03-06-2005 03:40 PM

I spent the weekend moving into my new home. I havn't got any pictures yet tho. Soon.

Trigger_003 03-06-2005 07:56 PM

I spent the weekend laying on the couch or in bed with a box of tissues and my guitar lol. Today I'm home doing pretty much the same. :upset:
/hates being sick

C'mon the pics! :)

gaslight 03-06-2005 08:17 PM

Aww :(. Get better. Getting a cold with winter coming on?

Trigger_003 03-07-2005 12:09 AM

A lot of people at school are sick at the moment. I was one of the few that didn't have a cold, so somebody kindly passed one on to me.
Spent most of today sleeping so I should be right soon. :)

Btw, like the new(ish) avatar Gaslight :thumb:. I used to love that show lol.

gaslight 03-07-2005 12:51 AM

I love it, I hope I can find DVD's of it. Trent is awesome. I used to have this avatar wayyy back over a year ago.

Trigger_003 03-07-2005 01:00 AM

You're standing on my nehhhhh-ck, na na na...
Ah, I kinda wish that would come back on TV. I agree - Trent rocks.

gaslight 03-07-2005 01:11 AM

I have lots of episodes on my computer I think but I haven't watched them in a while.

Trent: I'm tired, I was practising for 10 hours.
Daria: Does sleeping with your guitar in your hands count as practise?
Trent: It does if you don't drop it.

I'm downloading a demo version of Reason so I can play with it at home. I wish I had an awesome computer like the ones at music school...

Trigger_003 03-11-2005 03:40 PM

What kind of computers do they have there Gaslight?

Woohoo, 4day weekend for me! I might go to that Moombah (sp?) festival and do a bit of surfing with mates... and of course, jam.

Anyone doing much this weekend/week?

starting writing stuff for my EP ;), doing borhter's paper round, so i get £8. which is nice for 2 hours work.

Trigger_003 03-11-2005 05:43 PM

Yeah, that sounds alright.

What kind of stuff are you doing for your ep by the way?
I played for some family friends in Sydney while we were staying with them a few weeks ago. They liked my playing and they want me to send some recordings... so I guess I'm setting about doing one too. :)

Trigger_003 03-11-2005 05:51 PM

If it's any comfort, I've just got about 3 thick booklets of Italian to learn, plus a SAC (kinda an exam if you don't know) for VCE IT, a business studies assignment and a writing folio for English to do - oh yeah... I've gotta call a friend about work experience lol.

gaslight 03-11-2005 06:24 PM

Bought a keyboard yesterday.

Trigger_003 03-11-2005 06:42 PM

Oh yeah, I was going to ask about that. What's it like?

gaslight 03-11-2005 06:44 PM

It's pretty fun, it seems very cool for the price. It's an Ashton AK150, I pretty much just walked in and asked to see the cheapest keyboard they had.

Trigger_003 03-11-2005 06:47 PM

:thumb:. Any particular purpose for it in mind or did you just feel like going out and getting a keyboard to muck around with?

gaslight 03-11-2005 06:54 PM

Music school said that keyboards were really good for learning up on theory and things like that, so it's pretty much for that. It's also for fun and stuff I guess.

For now I'm just kinda teaching myself scales.

I've learnt the major scales for C,D,E,F,G,A,B. Next it'll be for C# etc, then I'll go the minor ones.

Learn to play Titanic? ;)

Me and the bassist came to the conclusion last night that the drummer needs firing, we were just getting sick of the entire, "OMG im so kool i am in 5 bands al at once", plus he booked them all practices at the practice room before we did, so we can't even book a week in advance anymore. His attitude is crappy, he is completely incapeable of taking a joke or serious criticism. During the writing process of a song, me and him kept on messing up coming in on verses and choruses, we joked about it e.t.c. I had no problem with taking any jokes about it. But the main reason for timing troubles was the fact that the drummer is punk.

He uses the heaviest sticks he can find, hits as hard as he can, uses as many cymbals as he can, jumped into double bass and uses it really sloppily, puts a fill at the end of almost everything.
So in the chorus for the song, when it really just needed a powerful simple beat, he filled it up with bass and snare work. This made it sound far too busy, and he did it wrong so it sounded out of time.
After a short point of this, and him coming into the chorus early.
The bassist lost it, "Nath, you're out of time"

^ He didn't like this and proceeded to mope and otherwise be childish.

So he's being replaced with someone who understands that playing an instrument is about playing whats needed to craft a masterpiece and isn't about being a diva.

(Oh and someone who doesn't think a fast song means it has to be punk )

aguywithaguitar 03-12-2005 04:11 AM

he sounds like a lot of people i know

KKKKKocaine 03-12-2005 04:24 AM
he sounds like a lot of people i know
Yeah he's been playing for 1 year and a half and he thinks he can take grade 6 because he can 'play' first date.

Play was written like that to infer he can't play it perfectly.

moaner 03-12-2005 06:37 AM

the moral of the sotry is...

it SUCKS to be PUNK!!!

gaslight 03-12-2005 06:41 AM

Hehe.

I'd learn the minor ones beofre the # and b ones.

gaslight 03-12-2005 06:54 AM

That's probably a good idea actually. I'm picking it up a little quicker than I thought I would.
