It's a lot grimmer than I expected, although a few tracks sound typical Alkaline Trio. I don't know why, but certain ones off FHTI sounded almost happy. These just sound down and sad

I've heard a few songs off their new album (Link is in my RBF thread- songs are disguised though) it seems pretty dark. And not as catchy. But still not bad.

One thing I find funny, listening to Alk3's records, you'd think they would be great live. But when I saw the at Leeds 2003, dunno. Maybe they just had an off day. Matt kept messing up and singing the wrong lines, Dan looked like he couldn't be bothered, and Derek was the only one who really seemed to be making an effort. I'd like to see them again just to see if that show was a one-off.

I haven't really listened to the band too much, but I find the song **** You Aurora quite funny, seeing how my girlfriend's name is Aurora. It's fitting I suppose... oh well. I'm done.

i heard the song's about one of matt's close friends moving from chicago to aurora, illinois to work for a chrysler factor/dealership thing.

Either way, It says the line "**** You Aurora" So I find it funny, no reason to read too deep into the comment. Probably should've kept quiet in the first place...

I got Crimson, the other day (courtesy of the Lovely Lilly)

And it's awesome, there isn't a weak song, it's by far the best album they have done.

Lilly, could you send me Smoke again as you left half way through it sending.

Yeah, Crimson is great. Although I do prefer good old Maybe I'll Catch Fire. I don't know how high I rate Crimson compared to the other albums, they are all good.
My favourites on Crimson : Mercy Me, Back To Hell, Sadie, Prevent This Tragedy

My favourite is 'Time to waste', the riff is amazing.
Other great songs are - 'Prevent this tradgedy', 'your neck' and 'stained in satin'
