Angus is a greta guitarist and they sounf great. Also they are one of the best rock bands ever so it dosnt matter.
|
That did not make sense at all
|
They're really mainstream these days in the way that all the cool kids wear their shirts, they have soime cool tunes but I'm not a huge fan.

theres only one thing bad about acdc and thats brian johnson.......................RIP bon
|
holy **** dude read the other pages before you post. we already settled this crap.
they have to prove they're straight
I don't think anyone could really perceive them as being homosexuals, everything about them conflicts with homosexuality in general. They are so politically incorrect lyrically and just the whole image. So really, there is no argument |

-Mark
The real AC/DC is not mainstream at all!! Cool kids only wear Back in Black shirts and they only know "you shook me all night long". |
Stiff Upper Lip isn't mainstream, pop, pop-punk, rap, rnb and hip hop are mainstream because they are "the in thing". In the rock & roll/metal scene AC/DC would be classed as mainstream music but back in the early days of 1973-1980 they were not, but as music has become heavier and heavy/thrash/black/death came along they were not perceived as even half as bad as everyone thought back in the 70's and with songs like "You Shook Me All Night Long" coming out they entered the mainstream of the rock world through "Black In Back". But a lot of people who like that song and others like it haven't heard the old stuff, which is good gear :thumb: . Back in Black and the Razors Edge can be sort of classed as mainstream, Powerage and Let There Be Rock cannot because when put in context (time/place etc.) they are not mainstream albums.

Not true, buddy. I a) Have a "Back In Black" shirt b) Own the album c) Am one of the coolest kids in school. One of these statements is a lie. |

yea but who saw robert halford coming out coming. anythingthat can go wrong will:Murphy's Law |
People who wear Back In Black shirts aren't necessarily the ones who don't know anything about AC/DC, some people happened to enjoy that album, but listen to others as well. If really want to find out who their true fans are, ask them to list 5 AC/DC songs that they like, that don't include You Shook Me All Night Long, Highway To Hell, Back In Black, Hells Bells, or TNT.
|
yea dude i wear those shirts and i own every album. most from the uk, have seen them live, and love bonfire. looks can be desieving
|
yea but who saw robert halford coming out coming.
Thats a good point. But with the AC/DC lyrics about sex and sexism and just their general humour on stage and the way they speak off-stage, I just really cannot see any of them being homosexual, I think Rob Halford was different in his manner and views than Angus Young and Bon Scott, plus Whole Lotta Rosie was written about a big Tasmanian women Bon bedded.
People who wear Back In Black shirts aren't necessarily the ones who don't know anything about AC/DC, some people happened to enjoy that album, but listen to others as well. I don't like AC/DC that much because I think a lot of their songs sound the same, but I don't own any of their records so I'm not quite fit judge. If they do have really varying and I'm wrong blame radio

Yeah, it's accurate to say that radio play mostly play the most famous tracks, Dirty Deeds, TNT, Back In Black and so on, of course because they are the tracks that people know, if you are going to buy an AC/DC record buy "If You Want Blood...You've Got It" which is a live album. It features most of the best of the early stuff and track 1 Riff Raff has different timing and it is the only AC/DC song I can put my finger on that is different in that regard. Their sound is pretty much the same throughout their records but the early stuff is class, especially on this live recording, the charisma of Bon Scott and just the electricity of the band when performing live adds a lot to the record and Angus's solos are better than they are these days |
I used to listen to Ac/Dc, but I got bored with them, and don't listen to them anymore.
|
I dunno how people can get tired of AC/DC! I love their music, have their albums, and have blown enough speakers listening to them I could give any AC/DC fan a run for their money! I was gonna get a t-shirt of them but then some poser came to school with one and I kinda lost my enthusiasm for it, but their music is still the best!

So not only do you deem someone who likes the same music as you a "poser", you let that ruin your enthusiasm for the band? Pfft. |

No, I meant the person who bought the shirt does not listen to them at all. They only wear the shirt to try to be cool or somethin. And also, I lost no enthusiasm for the band whatsoever. Only to wear the shirt. |

Im pretty sure you can get them. It's the one with the cannon right? !!! Speaking of shirts, in the Back in Black book that comes with the CD (page 4), there is a reference to a shirt that says, "I like AC/DC, and I'll fight anybody who says different." I really would love one of them. Does anybody know where to get one?! I would be greatful for any suggestions. |
i have one of those but i ordered it on ebay

heatseeker, the jack, i want a mistress for christmas, strangly the the razors edge isnt a big song
|
I've recently gotten into AC/DC via my Dads vinyl collection.
Albums I've heard so far are: Highway to Hell Back in Black Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap High Voltage I like Bon Scott's voice alot more than Brian Johnsons (is that his name? I'm not 100% sure...), its more interesting and fun. I'm pretty sure my band is going to cover Big Balls, we might even do She's Got Balls aswell so we can dedicate to a girl we know who is rather manly. :) |

I really like the razors edge. I love those powerful kinda songs, kinda like For those about to rock. |
Anyone got the donington dvd? I just got it the other day and i gotta say its just awesome.
|
Yeah I got the live in donington dvd.. It is awesome
|
Yeah I've got Donington and Stiff Upper Lip in Munich, both great DVDs. I downloaded a 1977 concert with Bon Scott singing and burnt it to a DVD, I don't know where the actual concert is and the sound isn't the greatest but it's good to watch AC/DC prior to 1980 when Bon was alive and kicking.
|
