my bloody valentine - i had heard their stuff before, but i never thought it was as amazing as everyone else seemed too (kinda like i was when first hearing the mars volta.) took me a while, but now "loveless" is indeed blowing me away. good timing too, cause kevin shields is starting to make music again.
Oh yeah.....that thing is defintly in my top 10 albums ever.

Luxor 05-20-2004 05:37 PM

I have Soon by My Bloody Valentine, it's alright I guess... Anyone have any recommendations for download?

bruise_pristine 05-20-2004 06:18 PM
I prefer The Rain Song.

I consider this their best album for sure, but whenever I listen to Dancing Days I just think about how much better STP did it.
I've never heard the STP version. The Rain Song is one of my favorites off House Of The Holy another really good one is The Ocean.

so i think it's safe to say those are the good ones.

Luxor 05-22-2004 12:11 PM

I downloaded Loomer and When You Sleep... I also listened to Soon a couple more times and I'm beginning to like it a lot more.

I'm really liking When You Sleep and Soon so far, and I'm about to download To Here Knows When.

good stuff... that's why i picked "soon" as my song by my bloody valentine in that one thread where you had to pick one song from your favorite artists... it's the song that got me into them too. i think it's the most accessible.

br3ad_man 05-24-2004 03:38 AM

I'm getting into Ani DiFranco and PJ Harvey. I liked Ani straight away.
I'm still working on PJ.....I've loved some of the songs I heard, others I hated....especially "Joy". I'm going to keep working at it.

ATDIrock 05-25-2004 09:04 PM

I've really gotten into indie and dance punk lately. Bands like Interpol, The Rapture, The Stills, The Von Bondies, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Hot Hot Heat, Modest Mouse etc

I just had a craving for AC/DC and I'm listening to the Live album.

cmn5864 05-26-2004 11:27 AM

[I had daydream nation ages ago, listened to it, thought it was awful and left it for about a year. I listened to it the other week and now i think its awesome. ]

Don't you love when that happens. New music right on your shelf. My faves:
All time: Morphine (Cure for Pain), Jesus & Mary Chain (Darklands, Automatic, Stoned & Dethroned), Beatles (any).
Lately: Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jet, VAST, Better Than Ezra.

The_AM_Trinity 05-28-2004 08:32 AM

I've been listening to a lot of local stuff from where I used to live "(Newport News, Va. heh, representin). There's this band called the silent press that's like q and not u (good band as well) and ive been listening to them and their parent band the k word. also, ive been listening to the mars volta and this parent band at the drive in a lot. and of course theres mis favoritos murder by death and cursive. oh, and this band thats on tour with murder by death that i just found out about called minus the bear and theyre awesome. all of their song titles have nothing to do with the song and theyre really random like "pantsuit...ughh" and "**** bugs whacked him, johnny". theyre really good.

Spiefer 05-28-2004 08:58 AM

I'm attempting to get into Coheed & Cambria at the moment. I'm still undecided on their stuff, but it's rather catchy and somewhat original.

Their singer sounds like the dude from Alien Ant farm, he makes me laugh.
