Alethian is pretty decent. You can't really listen to this illpressure dude; based on his posts, he doesnt have a clue.

illpressureurhinges1 08-01-2007 01:50 PM

Shred Danson 08-01-2007 02:57 PM

Berner 08-01-2007 03:12 PM

The only Christian metal band I can think of that I like is Becoming the Archetype.

jrowa001 08-01-2007 03:15 PM

the only thing ive heard from Aletheian is an album from them when they were under the name Crutch. it was good but the production was poor. i need their more recent stuff. i just realized that BTA's new guitarist, who also does the clean singing is in Aletheian. now i really want their newer albums

yeah, Alex joined BTA last year, actually. Aletheian's been a band for like 9 years and just now got signed to Ironclad. Alex was talking to me at Cornerstone about getting my band on at Metal Blade but I'm sure that won't happen.

The production on their latest CD, Dying Vine, is much better, by the way.

illpressureurhinges1 08-01-2007 04:24 PM

i did...

BleepBoop 08-01-2007 04:28 PM

theres no such thing as Christian Metal. Christian and Metal are two completely diff genres. calling something christian metal is like calling something jazz metal. there both totally different.

Tyler 08-01-2007 04:29 PM

I didnt realize Christian was a genre.

Berner 08-01-2007 04:30 PM

Ok thanks for that. Now kindly leave because we don't care how "metal" you are and how Christians are "bad people cuz of the crusades lol".

BleepBoop 08-01-2007 04:30 PM

its like those songs they show in the compilation tv commercials with I Can Sing Of Your Love Forever.

Berner 08-01-2007 04:31 PM
its like those songs they show in the compilation tv commercials with I Can Sing Of Your Love Forever.
That's gospel or Christian soft rock you dumb fuck. The Christian denotes the lyrical content/message not the general sound of the music. Knob.

Tyler 08-01-2007 04:31 PM

Christian standards could probably be considered a genre, but stylistically "Christian" would just be a modifier or a non-genre related way of classifying things.

I do agree that Jazz-Metal is a ridiculously lame idea though.

That's the most retarded thing I've heard today. Even moreso than ENC's ramblings. I'm not even going to touch that because you made me lose more brain cells with that post than THC.
ill check Dying Vine out, thanks.
Hey, if you have soulseek, just hit mine up. Search for trev_wfof and browse around my files, I've got it in there somewhere.

Berner 08-01-2007 04:33 PM
I do agree that Jazz-Metal is a ridiculously lame idea though.
You'd be better terming that as Jazz metal fusion.

Why, because most metal is sooo "anti-christian"? We must be missing your point hard because you make no sense.

Tyler 08-01-2007 04:39 PM

I'm not missing his point, I'm just refusing to acknowledge it as a valid one.

BleepBoop 08-01-2007 04:40 PM
anti christian is the consept metal was founded upon.

ever heard of a little band called black sabbath?
Did you not know that all of the original members of Black Sabbath are Christian? Hey thanks for playing, now leave.

BleepBoop 08-01-2007 04:42 PM
Ever realize the members of Black Sabbath were Christian?
not really. if they were they wouldn't write songs like black sabbath.

"satan laughing spreads his wings".

nothing like that in I Could Sing of Your Love Forever.

Tyler 08-01-2007 04:43 PM

No, they're definitely Christians. Dio is also Christian. You can write lyrics about Satan and still be Christian.

Proof? The Bible.

Berner 08-01-2007 04:44 PM

Holy piss you have to be a gimmick account. No new user is this dense.

Shred Danson 08-01-2007 04:44 PM

Uh, you do realize they weren't really writing those lyrics to be anti-christian, right?
