Local bands are cool. I wish we had more local bands. Although one of the bands from my school, they get to play with Rancid next time they come past here on tour. Which is pretty big I think. They're only 16 too.
Wow, that's awesome.

This Day And Age is one of a few locals bands that have made it fairly big. It's pretty cool.

itXalwaysXechos 10-29-2005 09:55 PM
Death Cab are indie as far as I know. Mae is pop-punk. This Day and Age is pop-punk as far as I know, I haven't heard them before though, and JamisonParker is like Pop-Rock I think. All close enough. Besides, it really doesn't matter.

I have just realized how awesome SDRE's album Diary is. Almost a 10/10 for sure.
Sorry :[ I'm terrible at labeling music into a specific genre.

It's quite alright :). No one really minds in here, most people are really nice. This section is the nicest one on the whole forum in my opinion. There are always some people that are going to bitch though.

Mae is awesome. i give the everglow a perfect 10

and The Spill Canvas - Sunsets and Car Crashes

Yeah people do seem a lot nicer in here now. The pit has always had a bunch of stingy people though.
By the way, I'm not a n00b like my username will say. I made a new account today, but I've actually been a member since summer '03.

I remember you! I can't remember your name though. I use to talk to you on AIM. You were one of my favorite members... That Spill Canvas album is incredible. Joshmay, an mxer [does he still post?] introduced me to them. I saw them about a month ago. They mostly played their new electric material, sadly :[

Oh. Did you post in here before? I thought I recognized your picture.

Edit: Last time I checked Joshmay was a mod :p.

Yeah I did. I haven't been using MX much for the past few months because of school, though. I just happend to have a lot of free time tonight so I've been on. My old username was takingbksundayfan. I haven't even touched their CD's for like 6 months so I just made this new username. I don't like advertising bands in my usernames anymore.

Well I saw your post and I was like "wow, I think I like this dude". But I would've included those either way. I mean com'mon, whoever doesn't give Diary a 100% should be taken out to the back and smacked around a bit.

I love all their albums. I gave War All The Time a 10/10 in this thread.

HomeCatMickey8 10-30-2005 08:43 AM

I don't know if WATT gets a 10, but at least a 9.5 + some mad props... esspecially for "Falling Bomb", because an all piano song, which is something new for them on an LP, and it's really pretty. "For The Workforce, Drowning" was amazing, and probably one of my top 10 songs. So many good songs, that now I'm thinking it might deserve a 10/10, which is amazing that a band can throw out two perfect albums consectivily... Let's hope for three, whenever it's coming out.

Society Sellout 10-30-2005 09:15 AM

Their new demos are quite amazing too I can't wait for their new album.

WATT doesn't quite get a 10 for me some it wasn't quite as powerful to me as FC was.

TheBassicBassist 10-30-2005 10:46 AM

Sum 41 - Chuck
Blink 182 - Blink 182
The All-American Rejects - The All-American Rejects
Bowling for Soup - Drunk Enough To Dance

those are my favorite "whole albums" to just sit down and listen to

Alot of the albums posted aren't even pop-punk.

Lifetime - Jersey's Best Dancers
Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends
The Starting Line - Say It Like You Mean It
The Ataris - So Long Astoria
Sum 41 - All Killer, No Filler
The Adicts - The Sound Of Music

Are you saying you'd give those albums 10/10, or are you saying they're not pop-punk?

Because either way, "So Long, Astoria" was the worst Ataris album ever.

morrissey 10-31-2005 02:21 AM

Reading over this thread, I never realised how close Pop-Punk and Indie Pop are.

I haven't heard a 10/10 pop-punk album to date. A few good ones, nothing mind-blowing. Maybe it's because I'm not that emotionally vested in the genre, I don't know.

cbmartinez 10-31-2005 02:22 PM

Diary is like a 6/10.

That album blows. Hard.

And you're little n00b writing isn't even remotely funny.

TheRedDeath19 10-31-2005 08:16 PM

Thrice and Underoath are definately not pop punk. Thrice is Hardcore, and Underoath, considering what i've heard about them, seems like a harcore band too

B 10-31-2005 08:18 PM

^^ That's nice.
