nofx suck. fat mike needs to kill himself.
|
I hate NoFX, hence the user name. Ok, that's a lie.
The Decline is their best work IMO but I think that Punk in Drublic, White Trash.. and So Long.. are also intense albums. Kids of the K-Hole is probably my favourite song along with the decline that I mentioned previously. I think that NoFX are back to their best judging by their new EP, which is also totally off the hook Here's To NoFX :chug: |
I love NOFX, one of the best Pop-Punk bands out there. I've only had the chance to see 'em live once, but they were amazing.
My favourite albums are White Trash, 2 Heebs and a Bean, So Long and Thanks for all the Shoes or Ribbed. |
Yeah I just wanted to be a brat by saying that. I can see why people wouldn't like them, and I am certainly not always in the mood for NOFX (or punk for that matter), but when I am, there's no finer. Fat Mike's basslines are very nice, and The Decline is a real masterpiece.
Nice coverup. It's my turn to be a brat right? Just messing with you. |
Fat Mike is a hugely underated bassist. He gets credit, but IMO not enough for his playting or writing abilities.

Agreed. Some of his riffs are insane. |
NoFX is a great band love em and to me they're what I think of when I think of punk. Multitalented, versatile and constantly pushing, great lyrics, music and attitude.
i wouldnt consider them pop punk as I feel that label is for bands in the mainstream, but I wouldn't consider their later stuff to be as hard punk. fave album: so long and thanks.... Decline is amazing but so is most of their stuff. I think that their new stuff is just a gradual progression of their music. they are getting better and better at writing lyrics, music and their overall talent is improving constantly. I listen to new nofx, and in contrary to other bands that put out new stuff, i'm not disappointed and will put it along with their other stuff |

In my opinion, Mike is a better bass player than Rancid's Matt Freeman. I'm one of 2 people I know who think that... |

That's because Mike doesn't showcase it as openly as Matt...for one thing. It's easier to gauge skill when it's wide open and out there. |

make it 3 |
they're pop-esque but i wouldnt put them in the same catagory as mxpx or simple plan kinda bands
|

I guess so. Matt plays solo's alot, whereas Mike plays some great basslines, while singing, so its less noticable. |
he does it a lot on the albums but i have seen some live stuff where he cant do it so well. like on the dvd he does Kill all the White man while speaking and is having a very hard time
|
I think fat mike is a great bassist, he's got some insane riffs and some dead easy ones as well, but as I agree that he's better than Matt from rancid, i'm probably biased as I never really got into rancid.... :o
|
What about Operation Ivy? You HAVE to check them out if you haven't already. Matt was their bassist too.
|
yeah he was under a different name. Matt Freeman is a better bassist then Fat Mike but Mike is a vocalist too so it is understandable.
|
NoFX is really good and i have some of their albums but i wound't consider them pop-punk.
|
Good band profile, very informative :thumb: .
|
New album should be good.
|

|
im listening to the new album Wolves in Wolves' clothing right now!
|
is it any good. i am guessing it is not the best they have ever done.
|
its pretty good imo. there's even a song in mexican or dunno what language.
|
the song Doornails is a tribute to Derrick Plourde (lagwagon), Boomer, jason sears
|
NOFX are good, except for Franco-Unamerican.
I bought the ''Never Trust a hippy'' EP a couple of weeks ago, its awsome. The song Seeing Double at the Triple Rock is great. |

A song in Mexican? Are you kidding me? |
Hahaha.
A song in spanish. Mexican isn't a language. |

is You're Wrong on there? Not the acoustic one, the version with the whole band. They played it when I saw them in Chicago and it sounded great |
Nahuatl or Nawatl (pronounced in two syllables, NA-watl ['na.watɬ]) is a term applied to some members of the Aztecan or Nahuan sub-branch of the Uto-Aztecan language family, indigenous to central Mexico. Under the "Law of Linguistic Rights" it is recognized as a "national language" along with 62 other indigenous languages and Spanish which have the same "validity" in Mexico [1]
However, it also serves to identify a number of modern Nahuatl varieties (some mutually unintelligible) of the Nahuatl dialect complex that are still spoken by at least 1.5 million people in what is now Mexico. All of these dialects show influence from the Spanish language to various degrees, some of them much more than others. No modern dialects are identical with that of Classical Nahuatl, but those spoken in and around the Valley of Mexico are generally more closely related to it than are peripheral ones. Contents |
