Ness is about 42-43 I'm thinking. |
did there guitarist diw of a brain tumor or something? :upset:
Social Distortion is great, there old stuff kinda sounds like ramones, but I like there newest album the best :thumb: |
So yeah, i saw them last week, on tuesday. The opening bands were decent, the lost city angels and the eyeliners. Social D came on, and opened with Mommies little monster...wow. The show was overall, preatty good, especially since it was only 15 bucks. But i was a little dissapointed in that they didnt play much of their faster stuff, like Telling Them, Don't Drag Me Down, The Creeps. The only song they played off White Light was Under My Thumb. They didnt even play bad luck...
But don't get me wrong, they were great, and at the end, when they played story of my life...wow. I must honestly say that they closed a show better than anyone I've ever seen live. The new bass player is cool i guess, haha he looks like a fat Quentin Tarentino. After the show we met the "replacements" haha, meaning the Old *** Drummer, the new guitar player, and the new bass player.... Mike Ness never came out, but oh well. Seeing that he's like, 40 some years old, I have to admire him, he can still put on such a great show. If they're coming to your town, i'd definitely reccomend seeing them. |
Mike Ness was probably too busy shooting up.

When did he quit heroin? |
I don't know. I've just heard rumors that he still does it.
|

haha Does heroin have anykind of affect on your weight? I know that people who snort a lot of coke lose a lot of weight. Haha that night he was looking kinda chubby. Fatter than in most pictures or on the Live in Orange County dvd... idk heroin or no, he's still someone i look up to. |

Thats probably just a rumor, although I wouldn't be surprised. |
I doubt it...
****, i really wish they wouldve played Dont Drag Me down, dear lover, bad luck...but no. I personally dont like their new album much, there's a few good songs, but theyre too slow. |

Yeah, pretty fast. They were cool, have you ever heard them?
I'd say they sound kind of like Lars Frederiksen and the bastards, but with a singer who kinda screamed a little more, and looked like he belonged in My Chemical Romance or something... But yeah, they were a cool band, for sure... The bass player was like, this big, hairy, sasqutch monkey man. haha |

at the venue we saw them, the fuc'kface bouncers were kicking people out for moshing, and because LCA was opening, the crowd wasnt that into them. I think that they should tour with someone else, because a lot of the Social D crowd isn't even into a band like that. But with the no moshing **** at the show, at the end when they 0played Story of My Life, holy ****. The crowd turned into one big pit, and there was nothing they could do... |
favourite songs would have to be
Story Of My Life When The Angels Sing Don't Drag Me Down I Was Wrong their old guitarist died at the age of 30 something cause he had a brain anerysm...or however the hell you spell it... I should work on getting my grade 3, oh well. |
Dennis Danell, rhythm guitarist with Social D and the only founding member left besides Mike Ness, died on February 29th 2000 of a brain aneurysm.
He was only 38 years old. |

Last night's Social D show was hella fun, the Eyeliners were possibly one of the worst bands Ive ever seen, but it was worth it to see Social D. I almost got my *** kicked by this thirty something year old rockabilly guy for bumping into him
|
What subgenre would Social D be considered?
Swingin' Utters. Street Dogs.
Swingin Utters definitly, Street Dogs not as much. Social D has a really distinct sound, almost Punk/RockabillyCountry |
