It all depends on your defintion of talent. "talent :a person who possesses unusual innate ability in some field or activity" - according to word reference, com, make of it what you will.
I typed in "Tom Morello" in soulseek, and I started DLing random stuff. One is called "One Man Army" with Morello and Prodigy(whoever the hell that is..)
Are you seriously telling me you don't know who the prodigy are?

EonBlueApocalypse 12-24-2004 12:44 PM
I like Zacks lyrics. Especially the way that he tells a story on "Maria" about the immigrant who came to America to escape her old country only to do grueling work in a sewing factory... or something to that effect. It's really spine-chilling when you think about it enough.
i think zack is easily one of the best political lyricists of our time. he conveys the message very well in most of his lyrics, since ratm came out and died no one has been able to match him in political lyric writing.

RetiredAt21 12-24-2004 12:59 PM

Zack is definitely the best.

Tom definatly is one of the best guitar players of the 90s... has anyone checked out his work as "The Nightwatchman"? It's his acoustic folk alter ego, its rather cool I like his songs. Also has anyone checked out the axis of justice album? Its pretty cool to.

40 oz 2 freedom 12-24-2004 03:08 PM

I found the self-titled on vinyl yesterday for 9 dollars. It's sweet.

How about Tom is one of the best guitarists of all time. Only a select few were as original as him.
How about Tom is one of the best guitarists of all time. Only a select few were as original as him.
I agree, stuff he did with his effects and whammy bar was totally original, there hasn't been much more original since hendrix.

TheShaneOMac 12-24-2004 04:10 PM
Zack is definitely the best.
I would have to disagree, he does not compare to Greg Graffin or Bob Dylan.

Tom is one of the best guitarists ever. He is definetly the most innovative guitarist of all time. Who else agrees?

munky_magik 12-24-2004 04:53 PM

definatly innovative, but perhaps not the most of all time

Arucard 12-24-2004 05:00 PM

He ranks in my most innovative, with EVH, Steve Vai and Petrucci.
These guys basically got me into metal, Ghost of Tom Joad is kick ***, even though its a cover. I dont count their songs as covers though, as they merly take the lyrics, and whack a totally new sound scheme to them.

Yeah take Maggie's Farm for example....completely different sound, but both versions are still awesome.

munky_magik 12-24-2004 05:11 PM

I've only ever heard the Rage version. I guess I should get around to checking out the original

Arucard 12-24-2004 05:24 PM

Yeh, you know E-F-F-E-C-T, that song, forgotten the name (Noob++), listen to the original. Its 80's old school street hip-hop, and look what they turned it into.

munky_magik 12-24-2004 05:28 PM

It might be called I'm Housin', but I'm not 100% on that.
Their covers are always interesting when compared to the originals

El_Shiznit 12-24-2004 05:30 PM

I actually like Renegades best. I think it's the most consistant as far as song value goes. But I realize I'm the only one.

Nah, that's a different song.

Arucard 12-24-2004 05:32 PM

Its not Im Housin, the chorus to Im Housin is 'Relate to the matter as i drop the bomb, cause im housin.' The solo in that song owns all solos ever. Hi el Shizzy. I dont post in punk no more, to many pop-punk spammers.

El_Shiznit 12-24-2004 05:33 PM

Wondered where you went.
Thought you might've not liked punk anymore until I saw your avatar. Punk forum is good for me still because I need my nOOb fix now and then. But I'm posting more and more in pop-punk now though.

munky_magik 12-24-2004 05:34 PM

It's Microphone Fiend originally by Eric B & Rakim.
So I was wrong :(

Arucard 12-24-2004 05:35 PM

Yeh, i still love the scene man, but im abit of a Power Metal whore now, but as you can see Agnostic Front and The Filaments all the ****ing way.

Yes. :upset: I'm not a huge fan of..industrial or techno, or whatever you'd call them. Fairly mediocre song for what it is...

I stand corrected. :thumb: I figered I'd get flamed if I said something like that.

metallica master 12-24-2004 07:04 PM

Tom is definately one of the greatest guitarists ever. His sound is his own and I doubt that anyone will try to copy it.

Huber 12-24-2004 07:18 PM

I didn't even know Tom Morello was in Audioslave when I first heard it. I figured it out because of that awesome sound he has. Truly a unique sound.

Nobody would be able to copy it if they tried. Beleive me, I try all the time. :upset:
