LEFTOVER CRACK : THE LOWDOWN FROM STZA
01 March 2005 Stza wrote us with some clarification about what's going on with LEFTOVER CRACK. Although the band's future is not clear right now, Stza is currently writing songs for the next Leftover Crack record as well as a side project with Brad Logan (F-Minus/L.O.C. guitarist & singer). Stza will be doing an accoustic tour of the UK in May 2005, playing the Wasted Festival and a bunch of other shows. LEFTOVER CRACK released '**** World Trade' last year (on Household Name Records in the UK).
|
ahh your right. **** idk why i thought they broke up.
|
They're sellouts. They just say controversial stuff to get attention.
|
reguardless if they sold out for "attention," they are still fun to listen to
|
I like them but their political views are pretty undeveloped. And they only have 2 albums unless you're counting Choking Victim.
some people might count that beefed up re-release of that rock the 40 oz 7" - you know the one, yeah?
the FWT album cover is offensive. i don't find many things offensive, but that cover makes me want to kick the s'hit out of those hypocrite fags if I ever see them.
except that the cover reflects an important aspect of the truth of what happened. |
the feeling i always got from the cover was that it's purpose was not to mock the people that died, but to show that both sides are definirely wrong. and it definitely helped to get attention, which i see nothing wrong with as long as they're just making exaggerated pictures and song topics.
|
i think the point of that cover is for people to go
'wow, omg i must buy this becuase it is so contorvoeroslail and alternative' |
some people might count that beefed up re-release of that rock the 40 oz 7" - you know the one, yeah?
except that the cover reflects an important aspect of the truth of what happened.
The truth...as in a couple buildings collapsing killing thousands of people, and they're saying pretty much, "Fuck the people that died, let's sing about some songs about beer (oh how original), shooting up schools, and rainbows... |
which i see nothing wrong with as long as they're just making exaggerated pictures and song topics.
Which is exactly what they did. |
Hey, is it just me or do they kinda remind me of the Lawrence Arms? (musically anyway.)
|
no, they are nothing like the lawrench arms
at all |
The truth...as in a couple buildings collapsing killing thousands of people, and they're saying pretty much, "Fuck the people that died, let's sing about some songs about beer (oh how original), shooting up schools, and rainbows...
You're dumb. They didn't say "Fuck the people that died" at all. They said "World trade is a death machine," and I don't disagree with that. And they didn't have any songs about drinking beer on FWT, shooting up schools, or rainbows. And get this! They've never had songs about rainbows. You're just ignorant. The song was about not singing about rainbows. And somehow, they are more orginal then you. You can dislike them without being a moron, you know. |
"As the same bitches that brought you the tower tumblin', Mediocre Generica, on 9-11-01
And sainted the Columbine kids,..we are pleased to present..." No i don't dislike them at all, but they aren't original. |
And BTW, I was talking about the cover of the album, and how offensive it can be to people.
|
The truth...as in a couple buildings collapsing killing thousands of people, and they're saying pretty much, "Fuck the people that died, let's sing about some songs about beer (oh how original), shooting up schools, and rainbows...
yeah, because they never addressed the complex economic forces that drive the world to violence and murder. or maybe they did. whatever. the point is, i'm offended by people who address an issue to bluntly and directly, therefore i cannot stand an accurate, artistic interpretation of what happened because i'm bound by my own igorance and my short-sighted inability to actually care what they say in the album. </mocking you>there's a difference between being offensive because you're a jerk and being offensive because you're right. US political leaders are indirectly responsible for 9-11. there is no way around this. depictions of them throwing gasoline on the fire and getting rich off their haliburton stock in the process may be offensive to you, BUT IT'S ABSOLUTELY FUCKING RIGHT. if you are too blinded by your inability to cope with death to understand that they are making an important, valid point that probably does the dead more good than anything GW did, i don't even know where to begin with you.
You're just ignorant. The song was about not singing about rainbows.
finally, somebody else gets it. i've been saying that to this guy for weeks. |
"As the same bitches that brought you the tower tumblin', Mediocre Generica, on 9-11-01
And sainted the Columbine kids,..we are pleased to present..." No i don't dislike them at all, but they aren't original.
What does that have to do with them being orginal? I mean, seriously, I read that and I think to myself "How the hell is that quote and what he is saying connected?" Yes, they did put out Mediocre Generica on 9/11/01. And they did saint the Columbine kids. Now tell me, where does orginality come into play here? And cheeser, I've got it for awhile. I heard like the first 3 sentences of the lyrics and that is all it took for me to get it. |
So here it is, the official thread for LoC and CV, no spamming it up, and no making new threads about them!
|
i will leave when we get one of those.
Adios. |
So here it is, the official thread for LoC and CV, no spamming it up, and no making new threads about them!
I love post 2 in the thread. :p EDIT - Little did I know that the mod and Nick were up to no good changing the first post. So now my post makes no sense. Just know that it did at the time. |
I have a feeling this thread will end up in an argument.
|
i love them both, whatever you little goons say.
|
They're good but overrated.
|
INDK, MG, and CV are all better than LOC.
Gang Control is much better by Morning Glory as well. "your current balance is 6 dollars, 66 cents" |
Morning Glory is the best. I think that This is no time ta sleep is the best of all their cd's. However they are all good.
|
Morning Glory is much better. They should try to tour more, or at all.
