Hmm why should you be ashamed? As someone said earlier, what you like is what you like and you liked it at the time so why be embarassed? I guess you guys are all too "cool" for me lol :P

The best Welsh band has got to be Manic Street Preechers.

Good Charlotte - I knew they suck but I liked them, until 'Girls & Boys' gets played on MTV like 5 times a day.

Limp Bizkit - I was a kid that followed what people did. Everyone listened to LB so I did. I'm now the exact opposite.

Linkin Park - I was never a big fan. I am not ashamed of still liking their older songs. They're one of my most hated bands though.

I listen to a bit of D12 and Eminem when they get on MTV, I hate most of their songs but songs like 'My Band' are catchy and I am not afraid to admit that I like it. But too many other hip hop and rap songs are just ****. I hate most of their videos. I'm afraid that Eminem may be the only rapper that I like... Oh well, I don't really like him, but some songs are just catchy.

A few other guilty pleasures include Hanson and Busted. And yes, I STILL like them...

f*ck it 08-03-2004 06:52 AM

I GOT EVERYONE BEAT!

There are so many bands I have listened to in my life time, and my tastes have progressed throughout the years. But there is nothing at all i regret having listened to.

I bought many poppy albums such as Spice Girls, Hanson, All Saints, The Smurfs (3 of them!!).

The smurfs is the only one I cringe at if I hear again, because the music is so fake, sped up and synthesised, but the Christmas album brings back fond memories of that era.

However when my friend comes round we listen to Hanson and laugh so much, yet remember the tunes too well. What's funny is that the album credits show about 50 additional musicians! Also listen to 'Yearbook'. How many times does he draw breath in the intro and still not start singing. It's great.
Spice Girls had catchy stuff, and although they faded out when Geri left, I can still enjoy some of their stuff, but I don't really listen to it now.

However I don't see how people are saying Blink 182 since it's not like you listened to them when you were 15 and now you're 30. They're a great band, and good music, whether you choose to like it or not, is your own opinion.
Sum 41 are as someone pointed out a very technically proficient band, and live pull off a very good show. As did Good Charlotte at Reading 2003. They may be a load of mainstream twats (or not), but thy got my respect after telling everyone to throw bottles at them at the same time, and making a joke about it.

Linkin Park, whether you hate them or not are still a good band and people shouldn't start hating things because it's popular or mainstream.

Anyway, these are all just my thoughts on the topic.

Some stuff I gotta disagree with though. You should never regret having listened and liked Michael Jackson. He's one of the greats, and his music is ace, because he had proper musicians playing, such as Eddie Van Halen and Slash.

Futureoftheworld 08-03-2004 08:40 AM

Used to be heavily into System of a Down, loved Toxicity for a bit......then realised that most of it was cr*p-they had a few good ones--still love Chop Suey, Toxicity and Deer Dance but mainly its just no tune and a whiny singer.
Muse--I HATE the singer...

gh0s7drummerr 08-03-2004 10:56 AM

i'd have to say NFG (new found glory). i liked them until they got popular and then i just started to hate pop-punk altogether

ibanezguy2332 08-03-2004 11:14 AM

i would probably have to say a band like trapt because they were cool before i started listening to hardcore music and before all those fake *** people started listening to them

ibanezguy2332 08-03-2004 11:14 AM

Don't regret it and still listen to it every now and then. I think it's a fairly rockin' album, but a lot of peopel still laugh at me for owning/liking it..
