I would try:

And Justice For All
Dyer's Eve
Ride The Lightning
Creeping Death

Amazing songs. I could have them up for you in the YSI thread if you wanted.

That has been said about 672 times. All we know is that they are recordin a new album. That's all we know at the moment.

Bazarov 07-12-2005 11:12 PM

Out of all these people posting really good Metallica songs, no one yet has posted One. Come on now people One should be on one of your guys' list.. Well maybe it's just because it's my favorite song.

I Disappear has a neat solo.

Drugstep 07-12-2005 11:34 PM

I don't think One is incredible. It's a great song. I despise the solo at the end though.

The reason no one has said it is that iliketoplaydrums10111, the person we're recommending for, said songs other than One. He just called it The One.
The Mechanix was originaly a Metallica song
Dave wrote almost all of it, Metallica just recorded The Four Horseman first.

FlyingPaul_83 07-13-2005 01:11 AM

Yeah but I like the four horsemen better because of that riff at about 2:35-3:00. That is the coolest riff I've ever heard in my life...from metallica.

lionelhutz88 07-13-2005 01:17 AM

My friend told me that Les Claypool tried out for Metallica after Cliff died, but they wouldn't let him in because he was too good. Is this true? Sounds fishy...
My friend told me that Les Claypool tried out for Metallica after Cliff died, but they wouldn't let him in because he was too good. Is this true? Sounds fishy...
Yeah, I think they didn't want someone better to replace Cliff.

lionelhutz88 07-13-2005 01:20 AM

Seems like they didn't want the new guy to be the new center of the band. I'm glad he didn't get in, so he could form Primus.

JonG 07-13-2005 01:21 AM

I've never listened to Primus :P

Chu 07-13-2005 01:23 AM
I've never listened to Primus :P
Start...

lionelhutz88 07-13-2005 01:27 AM

Yeah, they're pretty cool, but you have to get used to them. They're one of the strangest bands around.

Dustin_James 07-13-2005 02:02 AM

Primus owns. You should REALLY check them out.

brettberry 07-13-2005 02:29 AM

Les Claypool did try out for Metallica after Cliff died and they did have a problem with him being too good. But he actually changed his mind because James was drunk at his audition and kept on being an *** to him because he was better. Check this vid out of james singing, he really sucked back then.

you will need to click on Metal Militia Live

only yahoo users can view this video

Bazarov 07-13-2005 02:57 AM

HAHAHA, James had a horrible voice. But I'm pretty sure no one cared durring the concert. His voice is much better now.

brettberry 07-13-2005 03:00 AM

oh yeah, and what was with the reverb on the mic? why was that **** cool back then?

Hrothgar, I bet not many people know he sucked then too.

DJ69 07-13-2005 03:16 AM
Can anyone tell me if pepper keenan from corrosion of conformity sung in metallica's version of tuesdays gone on the garage inc. album?
I asked the question yesterday and nobody answered :upset: So can someone please tell me??

This is true which is why the got Jason because lets face it he isn't the best bassist ever
I've never listened to Primus :P
Go and buy/download Sailing the Seas of Cheese right now :thumb:

I think he only sang like that for Metal Militia.

I would assume so because at the end he says "thanks pepp".

hethamulburton 07-13-2005 11:31 AM
I think he only sang like that for Metal Militia.
He used a voice thing that gave his voice more distortion to record all the albums. That's why his voice sounds way different live and on St. Anger, as you can tell. He didn't use it live or on St. Anger.

Huber 07-13-2005 11:33 AM
I think he only sang like that for Metal Militia.
I agree. Even the screams in that song were louder and more profound, even so in the studio version. He was probably trying to hard.

Joe 07-13-2005 11:36 AM

I watched the Live Sh*t version of that for the first time and it was pretty awesome. they didn't play the first solo but otherwise it rocked

Yea, his voice live is less raspy and higher pitched. the album is a lot different

hethamulburton 07-13-2005 11:38 AM

I think Jason used it too, when he put it back up vocals. Notlive of course.

FlyingPaul_83 07-13-2005 11:50 AM
I watched the Live Sh*t version of that for the first time and it was pretty awesome. they didn't play the first solo but otherwise it rocked.
Yeah in sandiego how lars runs from one drumset to another, thats really cool. It sucks that they din't play the whole song though. I like the solo that they never play. :(

lilmetallica 07-13-2005 12:02 PM

Oh my god on ride the lightning live from the unamed feeling EP james forgets the words its histerical then when he remembers hes like oh there they are it was just on the all metallica radio station...

Actually, they had told he was too good with his own style and that it wouldnt fit in. Thats what I can recall

hethamulburton 07-13-2005 12:10 PM

Was he trashed when it happened? I know... prob a stupid question.

Jev 07-13-2005 12:16 PM
Was he trashed when it happened? I know... prob a stupid question.
Most probably don't forget these guys were nicknamed Alcoholica for their drinking habits.

hethamulburton 07-13-2005 12:18 PM

I know... but there were sometimes they were sober. Like uhhhhhhhhhhhh... well... I'm sure it happened sometime.

lionelhutz88 07-13-2005 12:19 PM

I think James' best vocals definitely were on AJFA. Agree? Disagree??

Jev 07-13-2005 12:20 PM
I know... but there were sometimes they were sober. Like uhhhhhhhhhhhh... well... I'm sure it happened sometime.
Maybe during a couple of band practice sessions.

Britton 07-13-2005 12:47 PM

His Best vocals are on S&M

But I love ajfa

Endless Obsession 07-13-2005 01:03 PM
I think James' best vocals definitely were on AJFA. Agree? Disagree??
Yeah definitly. Then Black Album after that.

Six Foot Revolver 07-13-2005 01:28 PM

:upset: I have lost all respect I once had for this thread. I know it is only a few of you but it is pitiful that some of you are cheating to get Cliff at the number one space.

PepsiMetal 07-13-2005 01:31 PM

The only people cheating are the retards that have no life and vote using multiple accounts. There go all the polls and obviously cliff wont even be 9th now they probably just wont count him and I dont blame them cause of that retard...

Bazarov 07-13-2005 01:33 PM

What happened with the Cliff votes? I'm going to the poll thread to check it out.
