It gets annoying when you see it in every single one of his posts.

Ok Ill stop with the emoticons. But I have a Metallica related question now. I have recently decided that I want to go see Metallica in concert again and I was wondering if anyone knows if they are on tour or not. And if so where are they at?

They aren't on tour.

Chu 07-12-2005 12:21 AM

So, do I vote for Cliff or John Myung?

JonG 07-12-2005 12:21 AM

I voted for Myung :(

brettberry 07-12-2005 12:22 AM
They aren't on tour.
do you know when they will be?

and as for chu...vote for cliff but you really should make up your own mind.
*not saying that in a mean way

JonG 07-12-2005 12:23 AM

It was actually a difficult choice for me between Cliff, Steve and Myung.

Chu 07-12-2005 12:28 AM

Cliff is a God, I picked up an instrument because of him.
But lately I've been listenning to Dream Theater heaps and John Myung just pwns.

Same here but without Cliff. I ended up voting Geddy Lee though :p

I haven't been in this thread in ages

blue3 07-12-2005 02:34 AM

It was hard to choose.. I voted for Steve Harris though

DJ69 07-12-2005 04:12 AM

Can anyone tell me if pepper keenan from corrosion of conformity sung in metallica's version of tuesdays gone on the garage inc. album?

I already did :thumb:

Huber 07-12-2005 11:53 AM

Sorry guys, but I had to vote for Les. Face it, Les is one of the most original and talented bassists of our time, and surpasses Cliff.

Joe 07-12-2005 12:13 PM

I voted cliff.

NP: Battery from the MIAWTW tour

edit: whoa! i never knew this was blackened. (i haven't listened to this cd in forever) and the intro is blackened but the first riff sounded like battery and my friend who burned me the cd said it was battery... aye yi yi

The first song I ever learned how to play on the guitar was Blackened. I really wish I knew how to play Battery. BTW, Does anyoone know what Battery was wrote for or what it means?

*serious question
*doesnt know the answer and would like to know

FlyingPaul_83 07-12-2005 12:42 PM

BatteryThe act of beating or pounding.
Law. The unlawful and unwanted touching or striking of one person by another, with the intention of bringing about a harmful or offensive contact.

An emplacement for one or more pieces of artillery.
A set of guns or other heavy artillery, as on a warship.
An army artillery unit, corresponding to a company in the infantry.

An array of similar things intended for use together: took a battery of achievement tests.
An impressive body or group: a battery of political supporters.
Baseball. The pitcher and catcher.
Music. The percussion section of an orchestra.
Electricity.
Two or more connected cells that produce a direct current by converting chemical energy to electrical energy.
A single cell, such as a dry cell, that produces an electric current.

I'm guessing its about beating or pounding

Joe 07-12-2005 12:48 PM

Maybe getting energy out?

"Cannot kill the Battery" "Battery is found in me"

and etc

Agitator01 07-12-2005 01:06 PM

The tribute:
The song "Battery" is an indirect tribute to the "Old Waldorf Club" in San Francisco on Battery street.

The subject matter:
The song is about a battery in the sense of beating each other up.

James once said: "There's a good and a bad side of a battery. We were very good at the negative."

That sounds reliable. I think I would go with that.

brettberry 07-12-2005 01:30 PM

I already voted for cliff, so...there you have it.

Joe 07-12-2005 04:02 PM

Cliff was my number 2 guy, but I voted Flea

vashts80 07-12-2005 04:03 PM

Voted for Steve.

Six Foot Revolver 07-12-2005 04:15 PM

I voted for Geddy Lee

hethamulburton 07-12-2005 05:44 PM

I voted for Cliff since Billy Sheehan was not on there.

LedSabPanTallica 07-12-2005 06:00 PM
amen

can someone suggest more songs from metallica that are decent besides

master of puppets
fade to black
the one
enter sandman
the unforgivin

i know there is more, those are just the ones im familiar with:)[/QU

Listen to creeping death

vashts80 07-12-2005 06:38 PM

I still can't believe that neither Choy nor DiGiorgio nor Malone got on there but Flea and JPJ did. DiGiorgio and Malone and Choy all beat the crap out of Flea and JPJ.

metalhead9195 07-12-2005 07:01 PM

yes yes yall

Scoot 07-12-2005 07:48 PM

I just heard Mechanix by Megadeth and it sounds exactly the same as The Four Horsemen, which I prefer.

RustedPieces 07-12-2005 07:49 PM

It's not the exact same, there's a few differences. If you don't know why, it's because Dave Mustaine from Megadeth wrote that song before he joined Metallica.

Chu 07-12-2005 08:03 PM
I voted cliff.
...
Cliff was my number 2 guy, but I voted Flea
What's this then?

Edit: That's all on the same page, so I'm guessing it's from the same vote..

MeTaLlIcaFan 07-12-2005 09:42 PM

For those of you looking for good songs to download. Metallica has so many good songs it hard to pick just a few but I would suggest

Whiskey in the Jar
Of Wolf and Man
Unforgiven
And No Leaf Clover from the S&M album
