Endless Obsession 07-27-2005 12:18 AM

O shiiii looks like I got tickets to my first Yankees game at the stadium.

Drugstep 07-27-2005 12:19 AM

Nice Buckley avatar, Freud.

I'm actually YSIing an entire album and more for my upcoming Il Mio Filo thread, and with 56k it will take all night, so I'm gonna sit on the sofa and just hang out for a while. I'm not sure I'll be posting tommorow. I want to get out of the house and just roam around for a while tommorow before my doctor's appointment.

EDIT: The 'actually' made it sound like I meant a Buckley record. But I don't. I just felt like using the word 'actually'.

No one has an avatar as badass as mine.

And there will not be one as badass as mine until I make a new one.

I love you Jason, I hope you know that... :D

this sonata arctica live album kicks balls in a supreme style!

I slept in 'til 12:30 this afternoon, well done me... and I have the day free from doing anything so my plans include MX, metal and final fantasy VII

I also second the previous request for some free online RPG's now my connection seems to be fix'd

Juno Reactor is blocked. :(

I haven't heard any of them in along time because I lost the few mp3's of them I had.

Hurrah! Off to work now...so early, but hell at least I will get home earlier now.

NP - Ayumi Hamasaki - Evolution

this song is oh so catchy.

I'll re-upload it nowish. YSI seems to be playing mindgames with me :-/

I got their Labyrinth album a few days ago, which I can upload if you'd like.

EDIT: Hah! Eat this YSI ! Juno Reactor - Navras

Firecracker 07-27-2005 08:32 AM

Hey R&M.

I've just got a new account, because i felt like a change, so i am firecrackercheese not some silly n00b. :-p

YSI was really pissing me off yesterday, i uploaded a whole 16 track album of individual songs, and none of the links worked when i posted it up.

munky_magik 07-27-2005 08:35 AM

Yeah, it seemss to do that sometimes for some reason. I just re-name the files and re-upload and it seems to work. Silly YSI.

Whilst getting photos done for my Student ID card, I took a quick look in HMW and managed to pick up Blazing Saddles and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest on DVD in their buy one get one free deal

Lord Abortion 07-27-2005 08:37 AM

YSI seems to be being a bitch lately, but not really for me...

Firecracker 07-27-2005 08:38 AM

According to Kif, it's because they're trying to crackdown on filesharing music inparticular, various filenames don't work, so munky, that's probably why when you change them it works.
But i don't have time for all that faffing around.

munky_magik 07-27-2005 08:39 AM

I'm not sure how they distinguish between the likes of us uploading MP3s and legitimate uses.

He does that all the time, for some reason.

Firecracker 07-27-2005 08:46 AM

omg such a n000b. :D
Hey Med.

I might have a merge when i can't be bothered anymore, and see how much postcount i have after that. So exciting.

I thought it was quite a good idea, YSI, because there are about a million YSI threads about the place, and it's a good way to exchange music, really getting bands heard, i wouldn't mind, as long as they bought stuff afterwards, i mean, if you're getting heard it's all good right. But yeah, there are so many laws these days, everything seems to have something illegal in it one way or other.

clearvision 07-27-2005 08:46 AM
He does that all the time, for some reason.
Hmm maybe it makes him feel powerful...

How many people are actually gonna buy the music? I don't have the money, if i download an album, sometimes i'll only listen to it once or twice. England is also ridiculous for buying music at CD stores, HMV sell most CD's for like £15. I know downloading is wrong, and i would rather be able to buy albums for £5, but i really have no alternative.

Buying used cd's creates the same bad effect as downloading, amirite?

Lord Abortion 07-27-2005 08:48 AM

Firecracker 07-27-2005 08:50 AM
Buying used cd's creates the same bad effect as downloading, amirite?
I suppose they are.
I buy new cds that are just out from bands i already like, from shops.
But i buy albums i just find, on ebay, because i can't be bothered to spend loads of money on them if i'm going to get loads.

RCA 07-27-2005 08:51 AM

Why do people put the two x's in YSI links?

clearvision 07-27-2005 08:52 AM
Why do people put the two x's in YSI links?
To try and stop the link getting tracked.

Another thing with buying CD's, how long is it gonna be till media changes again? Will it stay on Cd's? Go all out to Mp3's?

I think the post count does show a degree of experience, information you can trust and stuff. But also if a new user posts constructiveley, people don't say anything. Why would you want to abolish postcount? if someone spams to raise their postcount they get banned anyways...

ATM 07-27-2005 08:55 AM

Hey Med :)

Were you just vacationing in the USA?

RCA 07-27-2005 08:56 AM
To try and stop the link getting tracked.
Oh, I see. I had trouble following one the other day, and then I found out that was the problem. I was like "wtfmate?"

Lord Abortion 07-27-2005 08:57 AM

yeah, the last time I posted that song, ysi tracked it and blocked it

Firecracker 07-27-2005 09:05 AM

That's ghey.
I was also wondering that...

Firecracker 07-27-2005 09:13 AM

Yeah, what Med's saying, i would much prefer having a cd of a band i like than having a few scattered mp3s of them. It's something you can hold you know, and say you own. And some of the artworks are brilliant and you would love to own a copy of it.

With the postcount thing, i think it's alright, and should be kept, people do put a lot on store for it, but sometimes it's just a laugh, but it is something you can look at and if you have contributed a lot, you can have a figure there to prove it, but it's like the join date, it's a name or number, and it's just a figure, only there to keep records....

Another thing:
Is Jom: AntiHero by any chance??

Jom 07-27-2005 09:49 AM
Another thing:
Is Jom: AntiHero by any chance??
Yes. How are things, you wanna-be Ruddess?

Arucard 07-27-2005 09:52 AM

Material music collections mean alot to me, hence why i bought Slaughter Of The Soul on vinyl, just because its so cool!

Now i have that album on CD, Promo disk and Vinyl.

ATM 07-27-2005 09:52 AM
Yep...stuck to DC and New York just doing the whole tourist thing although we ventured into Virginia and Maryland as well.

meh, it just seems to be that people put too much store by it anyway. I mean, I have no idea who some people are around here due to name changes but if they're posting decently I couldn't really care less either. Doesn't really matter I guess. And I think CDs won't die for the forseeable future, not least because not everyone can easily download music, but there's no doubt that digitial music will keep on growing in popularity, as the record labels have finally realised. I prefer owning a CD personally.
What the hell, I live in Maryland!

We could have gone to a show
