The Mountain Goats, Animal Collective, and The Weakerthans have been ruling as of late.

Nice going. I plan to listen to all of his albums consecutively in chronological order at one point.

I just listened to his early years vol. 1. It's really quite good. Fans of that period of his should check it out.

The Jungler 03-02-2007 02:23 PM

The only song I've heard from the new Blonde Redhead was alright, but kind of disappointing.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 03-02-2007 11:20 PM

That's a good idea.

Little Man being Erased 03-03-2007 05:21 AM

Um basically Phoenix and The Rapture in anticipation of V Festival (the line-up of which Beck was recently added to).

Hey br3ad, you going to that?

Eliminator 03-03-2007 09:40 AM

Mr. Nogatco - Nogatco Rd.
1905 - Voice

First one is pretty good even though Kool Keith's rapping doesn't measure up to the production on the album. 1905 album is boring and not very good.
Hey br3ad, you going to that?
Yeah. Yo La Tengo were one of the best bands I've seen, ever. I've just about forgotten about everyone else who played.

Little Man being Erased 03-03-2007 07:39 PM

Cool as man. I kind of forgot that Laneway festival was on yesterday, I still wouldn't have gone though.
I bet The Rapture are great live, even though I can't bear to hear them on record.
Yeah, they will be great live, even though they are great on record.

My brother just edited the stream and put it on soulseek. Now a ton of people are downloading it from him, seeing as he seems to be the only one sharing it. I haven't listened to it yet, and don't really care to.
The new Wilco album is streaming on their website. So far so good.
After two listens now, I'll say this... The good songs are really great, the rest are fairly boring. It sounds like A Ghost Is Born, but it's not nearly as dark or subdued. Wilco adds some country flavor back into the mix, but in a different way than past releases. It's more of a jazz/blues style with pedal steel guitar and Nels Cline solos in every song, which works great on about half the album, although the other half just seems to come off a little contrived. Despite these criticisms I'm pretty happy with it. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I'm sure it'll keep growing on me. Oh, and no "The Thanks I Get"? I love that song, but I guess I can see why they may have scrapped it as it doesn't really seem to fit with the rest.

bleep_bloop 03-04-2007 12:57 AM

i like panda bear and grizzly bear and el perro del mar what should i download
