Battle Against Time 05-01-2006 03:01 PM

I save the term, "nail it" for mastering the riff or song.

The Leper Messiah 05-01-2006 03:15 PM

I see not many mention Everytime I Die and Downfall, but there great songs in my opinion.

Crysiss 05-01-2006 03:20 PM

Everytime I Die was the 2nd CoB song I heard. I didnt really like it at first, but now I think its an awesome listen.

I got Follow The Reaper from my little cousin because he stole one of my DVDs. Just thought I'd let you know.

I've always loved both of those.

Everytime I die was among the first I heard from CoB.

I love them both, they both have spectacular solos too.

Crysiss 05-01-2006 05:19 PM

I've never heard Downfall yet. Im just starting to get into these guys more

Silenius 05-01-2006 05:25 PM

/is learning Downfall.

The solo is fukking fast. :(

MRDuCran 05-01-2006 05:50 PM

It's very fast and difficult. I know it but can't play it at speed yet. I think I hit 160 before. The 4 note per string bit and the final lick are the hardest parts imo.

Battle Against Time 05-01-2006 05:53 PM

I'm doing great with Bodom Beach Terror.

I'm loving playing in DGCFAD as well.

MRDuCran 05-01-2006 05:57 PM

Which part, or the whole song?

That solo is hard too.

Shadows Within 05-01-2006 05:57 PM

yeah i just tuned down my jackson full step and am loving it, im currently working on Needled 24/7 Then Everytime I Die.

Crysiss 05-01-2006 05:59 PM

Needled 24/7 is awesome. I think I may have to learn that one:thumb:

Well the 16th notes are just fast, not really hard as they usually ascend/descend stepwise.

I've got the intro down. I have the chorus lead pretty well but it needs a tad of work. The verse will be next and it doesn't seem hard so I'm happy.

I doubt I'll be playing the solo. I'll give it a shot or re arrage it. (maybe play it tempo wise, like the chorus lead)

I'm learning the whole song. I found the GP file for playing it like Alexi so that was motivation.

Needled 24/7 isn't very hard.

I need to practice the intro solo and leads again. I've gotten sorta sloppy on the end of the intro solo.

Shadows Within 05-01-2006 06:03 PM

I'm Hopin To Throw an HZ H-4 in my Jackson and a YJM in the neck slot so i can get alexi's tone.

the song doesn't sound the same without it.
Needled 24/7 isn't very hard.
yes but I suck

Well that DOES make things harder, doesn't it?

Shadows Within 05-01-2006 06:12 PM

quite

MRDuCran 05-01-2006 06:25 PM
Well the 16th notes are just fast, not really hard as they usually ascend/descend stepwise.
But the speed makes it hard.

E-2-3-2-3-2-3-2-3-2-3-

A beginner could play that, but at 220bpm, that's very hard.

Shadows Within 05-01-2006 06:31 PM

dear god I actually got the sweeps in the beggining of ETID and i've never done a sweep im my life, I mean its obviously not up to speed and sloppy but I can do it.

Ohhh. Okay. I used to play parts of that.

I just alt picked the leads, though I sucked on some of them. Others I had pretty well.

I know, that's what I was saying, the solo itself isn't hard, the speed is.

Oh I see, well that makes your other post make more sense to me now (duh).

gillygan 05-01-2006 09:20 PM

So what record should I start with?

Crysiss 05-01-2006 09:24 PM

Are You Dead Yet? And Hatecrew Deathroll Are really easy to get into.

My first record was Follow The Reaper though

Apocalyptic Raids 05-01-2006 09:28 PM

Follow The Reaper is best to start on.

HAIL TRUE METAL 05-01-2006 09:31 PM

Drunken Viking 05-01-2006 09:32 PM

Is anyone elses FTR really really loud, like louder than all their other albums, besides Hatebreeder?

Crysiss 05-01-2006 09:34 PM
