My favorite album is possibly Waiting for the Sun. I also like L.A. Woman and The Doors, but The Doors S-T sounds more amateurish compared to the others. Probably because all the tracks on that were done in a couple of takes.
It was still ****en amazing even if they only did it in a few takes. Your the 1st person to mention how great Waiting for the Sun is that Ive seen :) . It has my favorite song ("Spanish Caravan"), Part of "The Celebration of the Lizard King" ("Not to Touch the Earth") and possibly the greatest anti-war song ever ("The Unknown Solider"). If your a Doors fan and have not herad this album get it its well worth a listin. |
What did you do to Duane!?!?!
 Poor Duane. |
I want to see o brother where art thou.
P.S I had a long day. |
I'm watching Easy Rider right now.
All I can say is...WOW. What a great movie. Classic Rock value of this post- If classic rock was a movie it would be Easy Rider. Great soundtrack to this movie, lol better than O Brother Where Art Thou? :D I've gotta try watching next time under the influence of something, I'm debating between a couple choices. |

The end really pissed me off. I really love the opener song. I think its "pusher" by steppenwolf. I don't think this thread has ever covered steppenwolf. |
O Brother Where Art Thou is up there, but Forrest Gump has the best soundtrack.

The only Steppenwolf album I've heard is Live, and I think it's really good.
|
JPJ, is your AIM connection working? If so I want to send you some Panic samples.
|
It was working yesterday, so go ahead and send away.
|
I found a bunch of new records I never knew my Dad had. Stuff like Neil Young, Zappa, Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, James Gang, 10 Years After, and the Guess Who.

Nice dude. My parents music suck, so I can count on that not happening to me. |
well the only classic rock i like is pink floyd, cause, one day me and my friends were all stoned, and then my friend pulled out dark side of the moon and made me listen to the whole cd with headphones on, and after that, i started looking at the world way differently.
other than that, i think classic rock bands are sort of dumb. i mean like.. led zepplin, they will never change, all there songs are there. thats it. no new songs or anything. i think people obsess over them too much, i see kids with led zepplin shirts, kiss shirts, ad/dc, but i ask them what there favorite songs are, and for example, i ask them whats your favorite led zepplin song, and they say stairway to heaven, and i ask there favorite album, and they say "i dont know..." like they dont even know any albums. it just pisses me off that they are trying to look so cool.
Hey, guess what, *******! I'm breaking my ban to own you! First of all, if you say you like Dark Side Of The Moon, than you basicly would like all of Pink Floyd. And if you like Pink Floyd, there are dozens of great prog bands which are classic rock that you would like. When you say that Led Zeppelin will never change, that's completely stupid. They broke up SO OBVIOUSLY THEY CAN'T MAKE NEW SONGS IF THEY BROKE UP, *******. Secondly, if you listen to their first 2 studio albums and then listen to everything from Houses Of The Holy onwards, you will see a big change in their sound. Guess what, their sound did change! It's extremely diverse. So what if Led Zeppelin isn't coming out with any new music? That's why some nice people invented remastering so we can listen to their amazing music any time we want! Ever think that maybe those people that you talked to are classic rock posers? They listen to maybe 2 songs and than wear the shirts? We in this thread are not like that. There are many people who are not like that, and it's very stupid to judge an entire period of time in music by a few idiots, who like purely hard rock classic rock. Classic rock is by no means represented by posers who wear band shirts of mainstream bands just to look cool. It's represented by this thread. I doubt you've even heard 5 classic rock bands. You're making a judgement on something that you know nothing about, ya know what that's called, dumb****? It's called prejudice and that makes you a moronic ******* who needs to ask for their account on here to get deleted before you post some more. *goes back to ban* |

Steppenwolf is one of my favorite arena rock bands :thumb: as we all know, i'm a sucker for arena rock :). *goes back to ban* edit: http://www.poplyrics.net/waiguo/soundtrack/fahrenheit911/. fahrenheit 911 has a killer soundtrack :thumb: |

I have read through most of this thread, heh which took a while, but I noticed you guys don't talk much about The Rolling Stones...I guess no one here is too interested in them or maybe you are and its implied that you guys are all big fans. I myself am not into them much, I have one of their greatest hits Cds which is good enough for me since I'm not too heavily into them.
|
I'm not a huge fan, but I like to lsten on occasion. I have the 40 Licks one, and it's all I need.
|
I love the Stones, they were really great songwriters.

They are ok, but im not really into them either. |
I'm surprised you guy's don't like them that much. They've written some great songs, and when you have a greatest hits album with 40 songs, then I think they're pretty good

I like a few of their albums.

i have a lot of their later albums for some reason. Some Girls, Made in the Shade, Tatoo You, **** a few more but i can never remember them, and also the 40 licks cd. i want some of their sixties stuff but i can't find any around. and i am a big fan. i wonder if the band would have been different if Brian Jones hadn't died. Because at one point of time he was their main songwriter/creative guy, but near the end of his life he didn't really do much. i wonder if he ever woulda made a come-back and started writing great songs again. |
