so metallica? we don't need to go over all that process here. plus, there's the audio arena.

so are we still doing this thing?
When I get home today I'll upload my NEM drums.
No, I gave up because it doesnt belong in this thread. A fan started another one. Look for it its called."Mortal Treason".

I have always wondered, Have Metallica and ACDC ever done a concert together?
I think the closest they've gotten to doing that is that big concert in Russia a long time ago. I'm pretty sure they were both at that.

The best I can remember, NEM was that good of drumming. Try ONE.

I've explained this twice already...I'm doing NEM for the Band Thread competition because I think it's one of the better songs that could be submitted.

One isn't even that hard anyways. If we want to do it for the Band Thread Competition, I'd gladly play it.

I think it would be a good song. I know it isnt that hard but I like the double foot pedal part.

Huber 07-11-2005 12:51 PM

No, he's talking about the song Prince on the album Garage Days Revisited.

Who did the original version of "The Prince" anyway? I lost the album case where it said who did each original version.

Sweet. It's a fairly easy song for me to record, it's just I downloaded a new program today and when I play the clean tone it's extremely fuzzy

Diamond Head. They also did Helpless, Am I Evil? and It's Electric and maybe some more.

Metallica covered Am I evil, but the others??? (I need G.I.)

JACKROXYOU 07-11-2005 02:47 PM

Diamond head? hmmm

Jev 07-11-2005 03:14 PM
Diamond head? hmmm
Yeah they were one of the first NWOBHM bands. Lars was obssessed with them.

BludgeonySteve 07-11-2005 04:22 PM

NP: Hit the Lights.

The first song that Metallica wrote together, I believe.

I may sound stupid for asking but is that Kyle Gass from Tenacious D in your avatar?

It doesn't really look like him...
NP: Hit the Lights.

I remember hearing that somewhere... I'm not sure tho

hethamulburton 07-11-2005 05:59 PM

Actually Hit The Lights was the first song Hetfield and Lars wrote together, and that sort of formula kinda obviously stayed the same. Hetfield wrote the lyrics and riffs in highschool, then got drums with Lars and the rest followed as it did,

JACKROXYOU 07-11-2005 06:03 PM

really intersting

hethamulburton 07-11-2005 06:20 PM

I think I got it off the Some Kind of Monster movie, or some magazine, I don't remember.

brettberry 07-11-2005 06:39 PM

I read it on a Metallica Fan Site. Its not an official site, it was made by a fan. I dont remember the URL but I remember seeing that and a lot of other information.:smoke:

brettberry 07-11-2005 07:57 PM

Thread Bump

Huber 07-11-2005 08:41 PM

No need to bump Official threads man, everyone knows they are here.

Okay you are going to need to stop putting the smoke sign with every post you make.

True story. If you go onto the website you can hear the Metal Massacre version, its a lot different.

Am I the only one who didn't think Some Kind of Monster was that good? I mean, it wasn't a bad movie, I just wasn't amazed by it.
Am I the only one who didn't think Some Kind of Monster was that good? I mean, it wasn't a bad movie, I just wasn't amazed by it.
It was interesting, but boring. I can only see so much of Metallica talking about their problems with some random guy I dont know.

Huber 07-11-2005 08:47 PM

Well, it was advertised as the life and struggles of Metallica during the recording of St. Anger.

Plus, it was a documentary. I don't hear about a documentary and think "ooooooh, exciting", I think "the yellow-spotted- too too bird, a rarity in these parts..."

You get the idea.
Am I the only one who didn't think Some Kind of Monster was that good? I mean, it wasn't a bad movie, I just wasn't amazed by it.
Where did I say it was good?

jimmyconway 07-11-2005 09:05 PM

master of puppets s&m

do you guys think its possible to cover master of puppets s&m? would a school orechstra do the job? where would I get the tabs? has anyone tried this before?

RiceMonster 07-11-2005 09:10 PM
Where did I say it was good?
You didn't. I said that because you're post on SKOM made me think of that.

hethamulburton 07-11-2005 09:12 PM

O, well it was just a thing I might've seen in the movie. I don't think it was complete bull but it was really boring in most parts, except in the beginning when it was about the early years.

hethamulburton 07-11-2005 09:15 PM
do you guys think its possible to cover master of puppets s&m? would a school orechstra do the job? where would I get the tabs? has anyone tried this before?
A school orchestra would be bad to choose because kids playing violins would be a really good way to kill people, having bows launch everywhere. So get a bunch of drunk rednecks, and tell 'em to learn Master bluegrass style, and cover the Bluegrass Tribute version. The Bluegrass version actually isn't that bad.

Leanna 07-11-2005 10:11 PM

Metallica's old stuff was awesome, but their new stuff is not very good. They should have stayed the same as they were instead of changing to get on the radio.

I think this exact post has been said in this thread about 2,147 times.

Welcome to the forums :)

brettberry 07-11-2005 10:44 PM

I think that Metallica changed their stuff just to get on the radio.
