I mean I know I have basically zero chance but js I'm on more than pretty much everyone, I have experience as mod, I frequent General Discussion just as much as R&M, I have a million mod zingers already ready to go, etc.

I definitely don't think conceding is the way to go. I think the solution is actually getting some mods in here. We don't really have any more local mods other than Vince. Riva has been gone for a few months, 3074326 might as well not exist these past two years. mx and peer are admins who don't really have the time to sit around cleaning up spam and as much as Wish helps out, he's got other forums to mod. It definitely will look like "they've" won if we disable images. A better solution would probably be to prevent users from registering using free (as in hotmail, gmail, yahoo) emails or adding an approval queue. It works for larger forums such as the basketball ones I visit. Once the spam subsides, you consider removing the limitations.

hm, the approval queue would work. the free email thing would be a pain as probably a lot of users use things like hotmail or yahoo instead of isp emails. could you see a user's ip if you used an approval queue?
