Wow, there isn't many Godsmack fans in this thread it seems like. What sucked about Godsmack when I saw them is Sully was all "Come on San Diego get the fuck up, don't give that crap about how you're only hear to see Metallica" then he said something about being a punk or what ever for not getting up. I was in the handicap level because my dad is handicap, and this kid in a wheelchair next to me looked sad because people started standing up infront of him and he couldn't see over. I felt sorry for him.

lionelhutz88 07-09-2005 06:53 PM

Godsmack is cool some times, but they seem like Alice in Chains wannabe's other times.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 07:35 PM

I think they are more "pop" than AiC

Metal_Distortion 07-09-2005 08:04 PM

my favorite metallica songs of all time:

Master of puppets
Damage Inc
Creeping Death
The four horsemen
Metalmilitia
Battery
Whiplash
Motorbreath
One
Blackened
Sanitaruim
Fight fire with fire
Disposable Heroes
For whom the bell tolls
Ride the lighting

Thier old stuff ROCKS!!!!! :thumb:

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 08:19 PM

ill agree with that and add
HiT The Lights
Seek and Destroy
Fade To Black
Trapped Under Ice- solo after 1st verse- awesome
Call of Ktulu
Leper Messiah
Harvester of Sorrow
And Justice- its really long though
Sandman
Sad But True- it's catchy
Unforgiven
Nothing Else Matters- catchy
Of Wolf And Man
Intro To Struggle Within

Bazarov 07-09-2005 08:49 PM

Is it just me, but I know a lot of Metallica fans don't the solo in The Thing That Should Not Be. I personally think it's pretty cool.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 09:02 PM

I like the trick near the end when Kirk sticks something between the bridge and pickups and slides it around hitting the strings, and creating that low moaning noise at the end.

I really like Godsmack. They are a great band. They do have a large amount of AiC influence, but they added there own heaviness to the music and made it a little different.

The Otherside was an amazing EP.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 09:07 PM

I like Voices thats a cool song to play.

Most people just don't like The thing that should not be. I think its a great song and Its one of my favorite from master of puppets.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 09:13 PM

I like that song, but it's not one of my favorites to listen to everytime I pop in the CD.

Thor 07-09-2005 09:14 PM

My favorite off of MoP has to be Orion. Its by far Metallica's best instrumental.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 09:23 PM

It's kinda boring to me, the beginning especially.

Huber 07-09-2005 09:38 PM

My favorite is To Live Is To Die.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 09:39 PM

i like the acoustic part in the middle, it's fitting for cliff
and the verse at the very end is really quite eerie like he knew it was coming

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:28 AM

Call of the Ktlulu has to be my favorite of the Metallica instrumentals. I heard this Metallica song on the radio, the lyrics were:
Free Speach!
Free Speach!

I can't remember the rest, but I thought it was actually pretty lame. Is this a Metallica owned song, or them doing a cover?

Cover, Free Speech For The Deaf or something from Garage Inc (I'd give you the real title, but I'm lazy).

kill_em_all 07-10-2005 04:25 AM

its just " free speech for the dumb" thats the only line in the song.
the music is good but the sound is of poor quality, they recorded it really badly.

Bazarov 07-10-2005 04:33 AM

Alright. I'm glad it was a cover and not actually Metallica's work.

Jev 07-10-2005 11:02 AM
Alright. I'm glad it was a cover and not actually Metallica's work.
I didn't think it was that bad. The original's better and i think Lars' drumming in the cover lets it down a bit.

DaveTheAmazing 07-10-2005 11:19 AM

Does anyone have any info on the next album? I heard its just gunna be like a "st anger 2". Is that true?

Jev 07-10-2005 11:31 AM
Does anyone have any info on the next album? I heard its just gunna be like a "st anger 2". Is that true?
Probably not. I think it'll be either like Load+Reload or something totally different(maybe even pop-punk).

OK Reload lost a little respect for metallica for me. Saint anger lost a lot more. If they go to pop-punk, ill tear down every single metallica poster I have, throw all my cds out the window and cry myself to sleep every night for a month

That's pathetic, no offense though.

Just because if they release ****ty music now, does that make RTL, MOP, etc. bad too? Old music is gonna be good even if they release pop punk music.

Exactly.

The old stuff you like now will still be there if they make something new you don't like. You'e got nothing to lose.

no the title is "re-anger"

PepsiMetal 07-10-2005 01:51 PM

What if they made like a part 2 version of some song on their next album? Which song would you want it to be? (ex. unforgiven part 1 , part 2 thingy.)

metalhead_matt 07-10-2005 02:01 PM
i liked metallica's older stuff better than there new (who doesn't?)
the load album aint there older stuff is it. that and the black album are their best albums i think, james has got the vocals sorted an kirk went through his bluesy stage. more musically in-tune. dont get me wrong, i love the kill em all album, but im liking the load album at the moment :p

Jev 07-10-2005 02:19 PM

Enter Sandman-Exit Sandman
One-Two

FlyingPaul_83 07-10-2005 02:58 PM

Free over ice?

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:01 PM

Maybe Lars will write a song aimed in retaliation to Mustaine. Like you know rappers write songs talking crap about another rapper, and they have wars with each other with lyrics.

Hopefully he wont. Those things are pretty lame and childish.
Enter Sandman-Exit Sandman
My old username was ExitSandman too. :amaze:

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:04 PM

Yeah actually it seems Mustaine and Lars have made peace with each other now, so I wouldn't be expecting a song aimed at Dave.

after Dimebag died, didn't Mustaine finally forgive 'Tallica, because he thought they couldn't go on like that 'til they were dead?

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:32 PM

Yeah.... he made peace with Lars in Some Kind of Monster, didn't make peace with James yet. Then when Dimebag died, he came onto Headbangers and offered an apology to Slayer and Metallica.

what slayer do?

Now they should make a tour togheter.

Bazarov 07-10-2005 03:37 PM

They should tour, that'd be awesome. But Kerry King is a dick and probably hasn't accepted the apology. But Megadeth and Slayer toured with each other with the Clash of the Titans tour. And I think that was at the beggining of the Mustaine/King fued, they could do it, if they stayed away from each other.

But then, Dave kicked Dissection off the Gigantour because they were "Satanic" and didn't want to tour with them. Man, Dave, c'mon so what if they're evil music let them play you don't have to listen to them.

Huber 07-10-2005 03:38 PM

Mustaine is still mad at Metallica for putting him in their movie. He said he didn't want it in.

Anyways guys, the Tool thread (I may have had something to do with it  ) is provoking everyone to work on their covers. They have one song complete, and two songs that need just a little more to be complete.

I was just practicing drums so my feet hurt. In a short while I'll be willing to record something.

I'd try and do something that doesn't have a hard lead part so we can have someone play the solo, I think that's what held us back from doing Seek and Destroy before.

Actually, that fued started way back when Kerry King left Megadeth...
