My favorite book was...oh wait...I NEVER READ THE BOOKS THANKS TO SPARK NOTES!
I tried to do that with the last book I had to read, didn't do much for me. :upset:

CONNER_NWHC 10-24-2004 04:36 PM

I never finish a book for english.

shane italian 10-24-2004 04:37 PM
Our English teacher was recommending us some books and she said " I would reccomend some Charles Dickens but I've never managed to get to the end of one. They're just so boring."
Yeah because the douche got paid by the word.

I've had to read 2 Dickens books. One of them twice. They suck, even when you don't read them.

CONNER_NWHC 10-24-2004 04:38 PM

Does anyone here read books for leasure?

listerine ice cream 10-24-2004 04:39 PM

Like all those nukkahs, if you'd just read some previous posts.
Does anyone here read books for leasure?
I do. My school barley assigns any decent books to read, so I go out and read myself, because I like to read. And because of this, I've had a college reading level since 10th grade.

I've read A Tale Of Two Cities, Great Expectations, and David Copperfield. I thought they were good.
Does anyone here read books for leasure?
I do. As cheesy as his books are, I really enjoy Steven King.

As do I. A summer ago, I read just about only his books, and some others, but mainly his.

I used to a lot, but i have too much reading from school now... Junior year really sucks

sketchyjoe 10-24-2004 04:47 PM

The poems and plays we study are usually better than the novels.

Last year we did King Lear, The Country Wife and Philip Larkin. This year it's Othello and Keats.

My hand smells like vanilla.

victimofreality 10-24-2004 04:47 PM

I like to read Tom Clancy books. I also like non-fiction stuff. What a nerd.

Aww ****, I just remembered that I have to read Romeo & Juliet again this year.

CONNER_NWHC 10-24-2004 04:48 PM

I like Auto Biographys.

AdictAddict 10-24-2004 04:50 PM
Aww ****, I just remembered that I have to read Romeo & Juliet again this year.
I didnt think that was too bad, other than the fact we had to read it out loud.

shane italian 10-24-2004 04:51 PM
I didnt think that was too bad, other than the fact we had to read it out loud.
I just hate working with things I have already learned.

AdictAddict 10-24-2004 04:52 PM

yeah, I had to read the wind and the willows 3 times between 4th and 8th grade

CONNER_NWHC 10-24-2004 04:53 PM

You can do even better on it now.

victimofreality 10-24-2004 04:53 PM

We have to do that with every play.

You should read Bruce Campbells autobiography...its called "If Chins Could Kill; Confessions Of A B Movie Star"

Brain Toad 10-24-2004 04:53 PM

I took Shakespeare this year. It is actually quiet interesting, and I'm really enjoying his plays. It's only for one semester though, second semester is Film as Lit, which I never picked, they just gave it to me because its the same teacher.

AdictAddict 10-24-2004 04:55 PM

hey does anyone in here know how i can list the original poster's name in the quote? for some reason i cant do it....

shane italian 10-24-2004 04:55 PM

We had an in depth section on Shakespeare last year in Advanced Theatre. I must say I fell asleep quite a bit in those lessons.

listerine ice cream 10-24-2004 04:56 PM

Something that sucks more than reading are writing papers and doing projects.

I will check it out.

shane italian 10-24-2004 04:57 PM
Something that sucks more than reading are writing papers and doing projects.
You have not experienced writing papers until you take a senior English class.

listerine ice cream 10-24-2004 04:58 PM

I know, I know... I'm effed when the time comes though...

victimofreality 10-24-2004 04:59 PM

My English teacher gets all full of crap when he talks about Shakespeare. Try coming up with a reason that Hamlet is considered one of Shakespears best plays, that isn't obvious.

AdictAddict 10-24-2004 04:59 PM

We have family friends in Ireland who have to write about 5 essays each night. For some reason, all their homework is in the form of essays, which really sucks.

listerine ice cream 10-24-2004 05:00 PM

Its probably not that bad for them, because they are used to it.

shane italian 10-24-2004 05:00 PM
I know, I know... I'm effed when the time comes though...
out of the 7 or 8 essays we have written, I have gotten C's on every single one. Only like half the class has even gotten a B on an essay they have written, and this is an honors class keep in mind.

AdictAddict 10-24-2004 05:01 PM
hey does anyone in here know how i can list the original poster's name in the quote? for some reason i cant do it....
so can anyone help me with this? I know its is probably a stupid question, and i do feel like an idiot, but i just cant get it for some reason and it is quite annoying... any help is greatly appreciated

CONNER_NWHC 10-24-2004 05:01 PM

Writting essays is probly my worst thing to do in school.

Ahh, well I live in South Dakota, so it won't be so bad for me. People are pretty dumb here.
